Heya Ladies!
As we all know, Pokémon games aren't exactly known for their plot lines. However, with all the cut scenes of the 'Coronation Scene' we've seen, the vast amount of characters and the direct speech (the close-up of N for example). Do you believe Black and White will have a more in-depth plot, which may pander to a slightly older audience, or will the games have the same lighter plot as other games, but with better ways of demonstrating them?

Also, keeping in mind that these games are for children, would you prefer a darker story, a more in-depth story, or both?

I want a plot where the villians have a good reason to go after the legendaries.

"Let's flood everyone!"
"Let's dry out the oceans!"
"Let's destroy the universe!"
:(

I'd like it if Team P caught the opposite version's Pokemon and you had to capture/KO the version mascot to stop them from getting at it, rather than them getting the version mascot and just using it for EVIL like usual. Actually, I'd love it if the plot didn't revolve around -insert legend here- at all, but it's Masuda-san's favorite plot device.

As for darker... not people getting ripped in half or blood everywhere or any of the other crap the fans are always going on about. If that happened, Pokemon will not even be the same series anymore. >.<

I want a heavier plot. So far the plots have been rather basic. BW looks like it intends to change that.

Do we want heavy plot or light plot? That's like asking if we want less Pokemon or more Pokemon. The answer is obviously to give us more.

But I'm not demanding it. I understand what kind of games the Pokemon games are. Even if they were to give plot, that's not to say it'd be the kind of plot I was looking for.

I think a more in depth story would be nice. I would like to actually be able to care about the story a bit instead of just rushing through all the dialogue waiting for the next battle.

Well, Platinum had more of a plot than the rest of the games. But I agree, BW looks like it'll have much more of a plot. Especially with the cutscenes and N's flashbacks, etc.

More of a plot, with characters doing things for good reasons. Why does Cynthia not help you fight Cyrus, even when she is the champion? Why do people follow Cyrus anyway? Why do gym leaders not protect their cities?

Hopefully BW doesn't have those "facepalm" moments. I'm thinking they will be good though.

I have always wanted it to be more plot driven than gym driven. However, they aren't going to change it. It will still be "gym after gym ... fight 1 with evil team ... rival ... fight 2 ... rival 2 ... etc." Those little things in between won't even be noticed thanks to the A button. And people buying the Japanese version who can't read it (has to be over 30% of those who bought it online)

I can see that its going to have a more in depth story. I guess we are gonna find that out once the game is out or leaked

Really? You think?

The cutscenes for the N and Team Plasma coronation do hint at an intricate plot.

I think I darker and more in-depth plot would be good. But nothing incredibly extreme. That would be like putting to much butter on toast. Too much of a good of a good thing, y'know?

As long as "heavy" doesn't translate to a ridiculous scheme to take over the world with a legendary Pokemon...though I figure this is inevitable.

I much, much preferred the Team Rocket plot. It was simpler, but it felt more real. A cuthroat gang of Pokemon thieves is more intimidating than our current baddies have been with their fabulous outfits. Actually I take that back in case I sound like I ever took any of the bad guys seriously.

I would just like a more vicious, darker group of criminals who don't find a giant honey heist very badass.

I don't think it matters what i want because that cut scene is most likely leaning the game towards a heavier plot.

I would like to have a heavier plot for Pokemon BW. However, it doesn't necessarily have to be darker though that would be nice.

I kind of liked how Galactic played out. The grunts were a joke, while Cyrus was much more intimidating (especially in Platinum). I wouldn't mind if Plasma turned out like them, given that the grunts' uniforms are even more ridiculous than Galactic's.

Nothing beats Galectic in terms of uniform they were ugly (SPacemen are lame anyway unless your an astronaught)

Plasma looks pretty cool an can't wait to see the plot

I want a much thicker, darker plot, with a villain team that aren't afraid to break some legs to get their goal done. Or shoot people. Or torture someone in front of their family to get what they want.

Wow... I'm messed up...

Also Use of Pokemon for public executions is a common thought in my mind. Heh heh.

I would like a heavier plot as long as the gameplay doesn't suffer from it. Too many games have a lot of plot and cutscenes but have shallow gameplay. As if the developers spent so much time on elaborate cutscenes and deep storylines but forgot to add actual gameply. I play Pokemon for the gameplay, with the storyline as a side. And I think DPPt had the best storyline out of all the games. Cyrus actually felt like a villain and climbing Mt.Coronet to the Spear Pillar is the most epic moment of the series to me.

So basically I'm saying a heavier plot would be nice but I'd prefer they refine the core gameplay than spend too much time with a story. Besides the game is aimed at kids so obviously no gore or over the top swearing.
