Just browse around, find some threads that sound interesting to you, and make sure you know what's going on in there before posting.
If you need any help, feel free to ask a staff member. Ones who are online will appear in the box at the right side of the home page, towards the bottom. If you need to ask a question relating to a specific section, make sure the staff you ask is a member of that section. You can see who mods which sections here.
I would also suggest checking through the FAQ forum for some of the more common questions asked. c:
