Hullo and g'mornin'! I'm 23 and I still play Pokemon... 'cuz I'm cool like that.

I just joined the forum because I'm having a blast with Platinum, and the Bulbapedia has become my best friend. I found the forum here and decided to register in case I feel the urge to discuss Pokemon with you fine people.

When I was younger I played Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, and Silver, but somehow I got distracted and never really found my way back into the Pokemon universe until just now.

I used to play the Pokemon trading card game back in the day. Like, way back in the day. Like, back when you weren't cool unless you had a Charizard (which I did!). However, I gave all my cards away to a younger acquaintance because I didn't play anymore and he did. I'm just generous I guess :angel:.

I don't really like the Pokemon anime... sorry... Maybe it's because I'm an old fogey, but I just find it to be rather lame. It's probably because I moved on to more "adult" anime like Ghost in the Shell, and once I'd seen the action scenes in that show, somehow Squirtle's Watergun wasn't quite as impressive :blush:. I know coming on a Pokemon forum and admitting I don't like the Pokemon anime isn't the best way to make friends, but I'd rather just lay it all out there from the start.

Anyways, there's a lot more to me as a person than just Pokemon, and if you wanna know, just ask!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I guess I wrongly assumed that there weren't all that many people who stuck with their roots and played Pokemon. It's good to hear that I'm not that creepy old guy hangin' with the kiddies :scared:

About the Doom avatar, that was basically the game that started my gaming addiction. I've had that guy as my avatar on every forum that allows it. I've actually got almost every iteration of Doom ever made, from the various PC games, to the N64 game, to the Sega Genesis 32X cartridge! Who says you can have too much of a good thing?
