Hello everyone!
I'm new to this forum (as I'm sure you may have guessed).
The first time I became interested in Pokemon was when I was living in Russia, about ten or so years ago. I knew about the card games, and only very little about the video games. When my family moved to France, I played my first game. It was also then that I first discovered they had an anime series. I didn't exactly watch it regularly, as it came on in the morning, so I only caught episodes mostly from the Orange League Season, a few from one of the Johto Seasons, and a few reruns of the First Season. Then, I moved again, this time to Kenya (where I am presently - for a few months more). During most of my years here, I did not really engage in Pokemon (at least not regularly). I occasionally tried a game, but ended up thinking Pokemon was a sort of weird place with weird things.
That is, until recently.
This past year, my friends had been revisiting Pokemon games and the anime... I initially dismissed it, until I was convinced to dust off my old Game Boy and watch the anime again.
I do not regret doing so.
Most of my focus lies with the anime, I will admit. As part of a nostalgia trip I have been going on recently, I have come to realize just how much I enjoy it, and how much has changed.
Well, before you all fall asleep at my wall of text, I'd like to say that you should not be surprised if I criticize the anime or the Pokemon world. I love them to death, but by God, if something annoys me in the slightest, I will pounce on it!
Anyway, here I am. I hope to engage in constructive, thoughtful, and (dare I say it) friendly discussions.

It's a good thing your friends got into Pokemon again.

And, welcome to the forums.

Wow, you have really been all over the world. It would be interesting to hear what life is like in all of those different places.

That's great that your friends got you back in to Pokemon, so hopefully you will find some interesting things here.

Well anyways, welcome!
