Hi all, I've been interested in Pokemon since I heard about the concept and have tried to get into it a few times (I had Sapphire at one point and just found my old copy of Pearl with 3 badges already collected), but I had been allocating most of my gaming time to online PC gaming. However, I recently got married and my wife seemed interested in getting a Wii U so that we could play SMB and Mario Kart together, and while looking at Wii U games I saw the $99 2DS + Pokemon X bundle at Target which proved too good to pass up. I got her a 2DS of her own and a copy of Y too.

I'm enjoying my playthrough of X currently - I'm at the point where I can catch Xerneas and plan to catch a "keeper" this weekend, which should be a lot easier now thanks to a kind Bulbagarden forum member who gave me a Ralts with Synchronize and with the nature I want. I'm hoping to get into some online battling soon and am looking forward to seeing what the remakes of Ruby and sapphire bring to the game. I'm also looking forward to interacting with this community - the wiki has been a wonderful source of information so far and the members here seem very welcoming and helpful. Hopefully I run into some of you soon!

Yeah it was me, got a friend request not to long after.

Glad to see you're enjoying the Ralts Rob, I hope you catch a good Xerneas. Because let me tell you I have a timid one but I didn't have synchronize (Because pokebank wasn't online when I was there) so you can imagine how hellish it must have been to soft reset all those times.

Thanks again for the Ralts! (I can't seem to post on your private message board or send you a message directly, so I'm sorry if you didn't get my replies after the trade until now.) I'm going to try to catch a near-perfect (other than normal Attack) Xerneas tomorrow. I read that it should have 3 of the attributes maxed already so it might not be as hard as it sounds.... This will be my first legendary to catch, so I really want to make it a good one. (I just hope I'm not making a mistake not getting a Modest nature.)

Just an update in case anyone wondered: after about 20 resets I managed to get a Timid Xerneas with IVs of 27, 8, 31, 31, 22, 31. I kept it since HP was high and Sp Atk and Speed were maxed. It can buff Sp Def (which is not bad already) has Def is maxed too, so I think it's decent, and far better than anything I had seen before that. I know some of you have probably reset hundreds of times for legendary Pokemon, but I'm anxious to get back to the game.
