A big hello to everyone on the Bulbagarden forums. I am not new to Pokemon but used to play Red/Blue/Yellow and Gold/Silver as a child. Also, I have dabbled in Pearl for a short time many years ago. I've decided to drop back into the series in some sort of style and will be looking to buy a 2DS with X or Y this weekend. I have done a lot of extra hours in work this month so I might be able to afford a 3DS XL, maybe... I hope so.... So looking forward to this and it is great to meet you all. :thumbup::spin:

Would anyone dare to recommend which game to buy (X or Y) and the reasons why? And also anyone with a 2DS, could you please tell me any of the cons to playing the new Pokemon games on it?

If you want to know which game to buy, maybe look at Bulbapedia at version exclusives to decide what version is better, also the 2DS is just a 3DS that has no 3D pretty much, but can play both DS and 3DS games. Thank you so much for the great welcome. I managed to buy a 3DS XL after all today. Have finished updating it and setting up all the bits and bobs. Pokemon Y is in the slot and I will be catchin' 'em all in no time .
