Hello, everyone.~ I'm not really sure where to start posting on the forums aside from this welcome section, but... I suppose an introduction is as good a start as any!

So, let's see... Everyone calls me Sophie, and I've been known all my life as sort of a major Pokénerd among my friends. I'm a series veteran of 16 years, and my love of what Pokémon is has never died out. Yet, despite this... In all of this time, I've never once joined a community centered around this series. I've been a bit too shy for that, I suppose... but now I'm finally ready to give being active in a community based around Pokémon a try.

With regards to Pokémon...

I've always loved the Grass type the most, stemming from a fascination with plants and love of nature on my part. Also of note was this totally adorable little weed we all know as Oddish... and I was totally in love with how adorable it was. During the transition from Gen III to Gen IV, I developed a temporary obsession with the Ghost type, as for the first time it was becoming a varied type with far more interesting things within it... but then Gen V happened, and a long came a Pokémon that stole my heart and simply has never given it back, which Pokémon-Amie only compounded with the release of the Gen VI games. A little tulip bud / young alura une named Petilil. Its evolution is a Pokémon I'm also quite taken with, as I just love its elegance. And perhaps of note is that... with Lilligant, I finally had a very usable Grass type without a poison dual typing to it, simply because of Quiver Dance. I've since developed a love of Cottonee and Whimsicott as well, and it seems like my love for Grass types as rekindled by Petilil will simply never cease at this point.

I have plenty of theories and speculation and stories to be told, and naturally I'd love to get to know people with all kinds of different views of Pokémon and different reasons for loving the series...

So, I hope that I'll make a good addition to this community.~

And yes, Grass types really are! I love learning about the various kinds of plants and fungi that they're based on. I first learned about real carnivorous plants due to Pokémon, so my love of sundews can be blamed on this series. I've just always been kind of sad that they've not really been so useful for type coverage and such. Gen VI has given more options to some, but its still sort of a desert in terms of usability. Not that I'm going to stop using them anyway, but... The point still saddens me.
 
Welcome! I used to not really think much of grass types, but now I really like them (most notably thanks to Bellossom and Sawsbuck for sparking that).

Thank you~ I've made a few posts and am enjoying the things that I've been reading, so I think I'm going to quite like it here.~

As for Sawsbuck, I was really sad to see the weather system go... it made Sawsbuck such an interesting Pokémon with its different seasonal forms. Perhaps it was just a Gen V gimmick, but I adore it anyway.

Thank you, Izumi :D I certainly love your avatar as well. Full Metal Alchemist was such a lovely series, and it made me a very happy girl back when it was new.~ As for my avatar, I didn't know what to put up, so I figured taking a picture of my Pokédolls would be a cute idea. I considered putting my Flabébé into the frame too, but its proportions didn't make it work out so well. Anyway, I'll be certain to do just that if I have any questions!
 
Welcome, Sophia Aetheria. I've never been part of a Pokemon community prior to joining Bulbagarden either, so I know what that's like. Thankfully, we are a welcoming community, so we are glad to have you on board. I really hope you enjoy what we have to offer! :)
 
Thank you Delta Uncle Edit.~ Things have felt quite welcoming so far, so I'm definitely enjoying things! Still kind of trying to figure out where to go and post stuff, but I'm sure I'll find my little niche before long.
 
I see you have a Petilil Plush. Where did buy that? I have been looking for a Lilligant plush (my favorite along with Munchlax) but can't find one. :( Thanks!
