I'm not too sure if this is in the right area, but here goes:

I'm trying to design my next tattoo, in memory of my grandma who passed of cancer. I was wondering whether anyone would like to put my descriptions onto paper? And see their design become a tattoo?

Thanks in advance.

This is a peculiar request as you must know. I don't want to sound insensitive but isn't there something besides the theme of cancer that would better preserve the memory of your grandmother?

If not necessarily so, then at least the image should be appropriate and perhaps focus on symbolism or implication than directly cancer itself.

The word cancer means crab as named by Hippocrates who came to the conclusion after seeing the swollen veins sometimes seen with skin tumours - like the claws of a crab, the way it adheres to any part it seizes upon in an obstinate manner - like a crab, and that it is characterized by infiltrative, erosive growth that extend crab-like feet into surrounding tissues.

A crab, though not perhaps too appealing, at least isn't a in-your-face cancer image though it is related to the disease. There are some artistic astronomy, star-sign images for cancer, the crab, around. Just a thought anyway.

Even then, I suppose it's just a reminder of cancer and not your grandmother, although the two intertwined.
