GEN VI: Help regarding Shinies.

Hey there guys,

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to be asking this but I couldn't think of any other place to put this.


So I've got 2 shinies which I'm not sure are legit. I've got a Purugly via wonder trade and a Conkeldurr via GTS. Can I assume these are legit because of the methods or can you trade hacked via those systems aswell? I'm not sure if there's another way to check their legitimacy.

Hacks can indeed be traded over GTS and wonder trade. Simply look at the Shiny Mews or Arceus available for trade. I myself have been on the recieving end of hacks.

Hacks can get through the bank/GTS unfortunately. The current checks only account for what is more obviously illegal, such as moves and event locks. For instance I have had a shiny with an illegal ball combination, but it wasn't flagged as such anywhere from the trader's HG/SS game to my Y (got through Transfer, Transporter, Bank, GTS without issue).

The thread @Forgotten; linked to is the best place to go. Battle Spot is also a bit more discerning about hacks, so you could try using the shinies there and see if they are allowed.
