Help Setting Up a Wireless Router

Recently I upgraded from a 512K internet connection to a 10Mbps one, and my ISP threw in a new 2Wire router (2700HGV-2) with wireless capability along with the upgrade. I decided to mess around with the settings of my new router a bit, seeing that I have nothing much else to do and today being a public holiday here. I have already set the SSID to something else, disabled it's broadcast, set the router to use WPA encryption, and set a password for my router. Are there any other settings I need or may want to mess around with? Also, is the router's firewall OK with the firewall software I have?
 
Well, I don't know that much about hardware and such, but usually router firewalls are better than software ones.
Also, if you can't connect using things like bittorrent or online games, then you might want to try port-forwarding. http://portforward.com/
