Sorry that I don't have much already created, but you gotta start from somewhere, right?

~~~~
I want to create a Dragon type Pokemon team. Don't comment and say something dumb like 'OH WOW YOUR TEAM IS SO WEAK TO ICE TYPES YOU FAIL AT POKEMON'. Though I might be bad at making teams, nobody likes being criticized like that.
I don't have much put together yet, but, by the help of all you awesome battlers and maybe some random other sources, I hope to put together my Ultimate Dragon Team.
Oh, and I just remembered; I do NOT want any Ubers on my team.
Here's what I have so far:
Lead
:235:Smeargle @ Leftovers/Focus Sash
Own Tempo
Jolly
96 HP / 120 Def / 40 SpD / 252 Spe
~(Good Boost Move)
~Ingrain
~Taunt / Sleep Powder / Spore
~Baton Pass
Support
:149: Dragonite @ Leftovers
Inner Focus
Careful / Calm
EVs: 248 HP / 216 SpD / 44 Spe
~ Heal Bell / Light Screen
~ Roost
~ Thunder Wave / Toxic
~ Dragon Claw / Flamethrower / Fire punch
Choice Scarfer - OFFICIAL! I HAVE A SHINY JOLLY TRAPINCH!
oie_flygon_icon.png
~ Fire Blast
Special Sweeper
:230:Kingdra @ Scope Lens
Sniper
Modest
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Special Sweeper - OFFICIAL! I HAVE A TIMID LATIAS!
Latias @ Life Orb
:205:Forretress @ Leftovers
Sturdy
Relaxed
252 HP / 112 Atk / 144 Def
~ Spikes / Toxic Spikes
~ Rapid Spin
~ Earthquake
~ Explosion
Possible other pokemon:
None right now...
I'm thinking Dragonite could possibly learn the Punches, but I'm not sure. Someone suggested a Charizard, so that could possibly help with all those Ice types that are bound to be set against me. I also need another wildcard, which is basically a Pokemon that is on the team, and combats the weaknesses of the rest of the team. I can use 2 wildcards per team.
I am thinking about Smeargle for another wildcard, since it can learn any move, and I just consider it awesome.
Basically what I need is:
Any swaps to the Pokemon listed; only 2 non-dragons.
Natures for any pokemon without one.
Movesets for any pokemon without them..
What stat to EV in for any pokemon without them listed.
What role the pokemon will play in my team (attacker/sp. attacker/wall, etc.)
What items to have the pokemon hold.
Thanks for helping! Hopefully sometime soon I will have my Dragon type team put together!
Then will come the impossible task of getting all the Pokemon and TM's, along with EV'ing them...
Updates:
LATIAS IS OFFICIAL! GHASKAN HAS JUST GIVEN ME ONE, SO DON'T SAY I SHOULD CHANGE THAT POKEMON. HOWEVER, YOU CAN CHANGE THE MOVESET OF LATIAS.
So this very surely is an in-game team? There's a thread thats stickied in this forum for such teams.
This isn't really an in-game team, more like a wi-fi team. I plan to battle a bunch of people (gonna start a gym on some sites) with this, and test it. This is my first wi-fi team, so yes, you can say I'm a noob. I just need help with putting this together.
You should start by assembling sets from smogon, and then we can help you improve it.
Here: http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/
Having no EVs, Nature ETC goes against the rules.
The problem is, is that Smogon is blocked on my computer ;( So in order to find sets for my team, I need to google them and hope I get some luck. Takes awhile...
Until I get sets though, please, nobody close this thread! I really want to make a Dragon type team, so please wait until I get some more information!
EDIT: Ugh, Serebii is blocked, too. This makes it even harder to assemble my team... can anyone copy and paste some sets into here to help me? I would greatly appreciate it.
Support Dragonite-
Leftovers Careful / Calm
EVs248 HP / 216 SpD / 44 Spe
~ Heal Bell / Light Screen
~ Roost
~ Thunder Wave / Toxic
~ Dragon Claw / Flamethrower / Fire punch
I found this to be kinda interesting. I just kinda added fire punch there XD!
Thanks! This is the kind of stuff I wanted. Everyone else, you can use this as an example for your additions!
I'd copy and paste, but that'd be huge D= I can try to send you the articles via PM if you're interested though.
My suggestion,
Smeargle @ Leftovers/Focus Sash
Own Tempo
Jolly
96 HP / 120 Def / 40 SpD / 252 Spe
~Any boost move you want
~Ingrain
~Taunt / Sleep Powder / Spore
~Baton Pass
This one sounds a pretty interesting lead to start out and not denounce your theme. First, get the power boosting move you want to start. Ingrain comes in to help your dragons get HP and avoid they'll be Roared or something. The next choose is to make other leads useless. I know Spore is far superior to Sleep Powder, but just in case you can't get Spore the later will do. Baton Pass is there for obvious reasons.
Dragonite - use what Jaxon said. I recommend Calm for nature, using Heal Bell for support, Thunder Wave as crippling move and Flamethrower as attack. Maybe Dragon Claw if you prefer STAB over coverage.
Kingdra @ Scope Lens
Sniper
Modest
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
~ Agility
~ Surf
~ Dragon Pulse
~ Signal Beam
A special sweeper. Sniper isn't usual on Kingdra, but this actually can do some threat to your opponent. It works well on Drapion, so I guess you may want to try this out.Agility comes in handy when you predict a free turn, Surf is there for reliable STAB (although you can use Hydro Pump for power), Dragon Pulse is another powerful STAB move and Signal Beam helps your coverage, inclusively fainting Froslass.
Flygon @ Choise Scarf
Levitate
Jolly
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
~ Earthquake
~ Outrage
~ U-turn
~ Fire Blast
Ye' old Choise Scarfer. Earthquake is always handy, Outrage is a beast, U-Turn is very useful for scouting (or to annoy!) and Fire Blast is a good option to cover your ice weakness.
Latias @ Life Orb
Levitate
Timid
4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
~ Draco Meteor
~ Surf
~ Thunderbolt
~ Recover
Latias has a cool typing you should use instead of repeating Dragon / Flying. This is an offensive set that will allow you to have freedom of chose. Regular attacks, Recover to prologue the time she'll stay in play.
Forretress @ Leftovers
Sturdy
Relaxed
252 HP / 112 Atk / 144 Def
~ Spikes / Toxic Spikes
~ Rapid Spin
~ Earthquake
~ Explosion
Finally, a physical tank that can also Rapid Spin to help your team out. Toxic Spikes is my preference, but chose whichever your prefer. I'm not suggesting Gyro Ball, because you'd have to bred 0 speed IVs, but use it if you want instead of Earthquake. Earthquake is reliable enough, and explosion is a powerful way to faint your wore out Forretress.
I haven't tested this team, so these are only ideas.
At least one of your non Dragon types should be a Steel type that can cover your weaknesses. Stuff like Heatran/Magnezone/Bronzong/Scizor/Metagross/Empoleon/etc works.
Ghaskan, that all looks good, but I'm not really sure if I want Latias on my team. How am I going to get a Timid Latias that easily? If I could breed for all the members of my team, that would be easy. Can you think of another pokemon that could be in its place?
Oh, and I think it's a rule that for your 'wildcards' on this one site, that your wildcards have to have at least 1 move of the same type that your gym is, like mine is Dragon, so my wildcards should have at least 1 dragon type move. I'm not sure though.
Troggy, I agree. Maybe if the Foretress works out, that could be the steel type.
I have cloned Timid Latias. I can trade you one for a few rare candies.
OK, I have gotten a trade planned with Ghaskan.
Does anyone else have anything to add/change?
Forretress @ Leftovers
Sturdy
Relaxed
252 HP / 112 Atk / 144 Def
~ Spikes / Toxic Spikes/ Stealth Rock
~ Rapid Spin
~ Earthquake
~ Explosion/ Payback
Suggestions in bold
Lead
Smeargle @ Leftovers/Focus Sash
Own Tempo
Jolly
96 HP / 120 Def / 40 SpD / 252 Spe
~(Good Boost Move)
~Ingrain
~Taunt / Sleep Powder / Spore
~Baton Pass
This set is terrible for anything but a baton pass team. Ingrain prevents you from switching out, which means that whatever you baton pass in is stuck in until it dies. Taunt leads will also render it useless.
I would suggest trying the spiker lead, if you'd like to use smeargle:
Smeargle @ Focus Sash
Own Tempo
Jolly
4 HP / 252 Def / 252 Spe
~Spore
~Spikes
~Stealth Rock
~Taunt
It's still useless against taunt leads, but at least it doesn't hinder your own team.
You can just use an ubblocker to get to Smogon.
I would drop Smeargle completely and use an Aerodactyl instead, since it's kind of dragon like. That's just personal preference.
Use Swift Swim>Sniper on Kingdra, then use Rain Dance over Agility and Draco Meteor over Dragon Pulse.
Adding a Salamence in there would probably help a lot too, considering it's probably the best Dragon type there is sweeping wise outside of ubers. Mixmence or DDMence would be a lot more useful than Flygon imo.
I hope that made some sense @_@
Ok, for Smeargle I'd suggest you have Dragon Dance, Stealth Rock, Baton Pass and Taunt. Dragon Dance for speed and attack boost. Stealth Rock for your own trap (that move we all love), Baton pass to give your Flygon (I assume you'd use this order for your Choice-scarfer, for the good attack boost, seeing as 3/4 of his moveset's physical) the results of Dragon Dance, and Taunt for stopping trap/boost spamming.
I'd switch Agility for Ice Beam on Kingdra.
Latias might want Psychic instead of a Surf rehash.
For a tank, I personally prefer Metagross as a tank instead of Forretress, but it's really your choice between a Rapid Spinner or a more attack focused tank. One edit I've used that's been quite helpful to me with a Metagross tank (albeit I'm still quite new to competitive battling - I spend more time preparing then duking it out) is Psychic (or assuming you went for attack EV's, Zen Headbutt) in place of the Light Screen/SR slot.
Smeargle without spore is pretty much useless, and the set you suggested is an inferior ninjask.
And what? Latias dropping surf? Do you want to get raped by tyranitar and scizor? Surf should be Latias' spam move, the one you hit until you have a reason not to.
