I am trying to install the USB Wi-Fi connecter on my PC, but it isn't working. I have Windows XP, DSL, and no firewalls or programs running that would restrict its access. I have tried both the CD-ROM and the downloadable installers from Nintendo's website.

The installer runs OK until it gets to the part about sharing Internet access. When it the setup status bar gets almost to the end it stops for several minutes. After this time the installer suddenly closes altogether and does not do anything else. The USB dongle is plugged in, and the light on it is blinking, but when I go through my programs it looks like the Wi-Fi software didn't install at all. It does this no matter how many times I try or restart my computer.

Help?

I am freaking out because it's looking like I won't be able to get on WFC at all now. And I can't return the USB connector because the store won't take opened electronics, so I'm out $40.

What port does Nintendo Wifi run off anyway? I'm behind a really crappy firewall (but the internet is free) that basically restricts everything except for HTML ports.

No error message. As I said, the installer just shuts down altogether. ONE time I did get a message that it couldn't detect an Internet connection, even though I was connected.

*sigh* I would just wait it out because I am planning on getting a new computer this year anyway, but when I do it's going to either be a Mac or run Vista. Nintendo had better figure out how to get the USB thing to work with those...

EDIT: Tried it again right after posting this, and it worked. :)
