I've got an old gameboy link cable and I'd like to use it to trade Poke`mon to and from my Crystal and Silver games to get data on Poke`mon.

Anyway, in the past, when using our link cable, it would screw up our battle for some reason. Like, for example, when we battled, my sister would send out Flaffy but this mysterious Tangela came out instead that would die instantaneously and then come back to life somehow. It didn't effect our game data at all but only screwed up the battle.

I don't remember if it messed up our games when we traded but I'm so nervous about trying it because my Silver game data means so much to me that if it corrupted and/or deleted, I'd have a fit.

So my question is, do you think it's safe for me to trade Poke`mon from Silver to Crystal using the gameboy link cable?

maybe it would work if you could back up the data somehow the you would be fine but do what ever you are the most comfortable with

I've never heard of that before, if you have other pokemon games then try it on them 1st.
