I used the catch trainer's pokemon on "rival" to get his snorlax. After i caught it it said you caught Staraptor, then it said Bad EGG sent to PC and when i went to check it was fine should i be worried?

You should be worried if you really think it's okay to steal the rival's Snorlax.

Hacking and cheating are for naïve people. As already stated, if you still prefer to mess around with cheats, you should then know what you're doing. If it goes wrong, it's all your fault and nobody cares.

people DO NOT USE STEAL TRAINERS POKEMONS CHEAT ITS VERY BAD!!!
I LEARNED THE HARD WAYi accidentally hatched an egg from the daycare WITHOUT any pokes in there and hatched missingno. and ever since EVERY time i looked into my team slot it would freeze AND it cannot be removed from the team slot using pc and if you place a pokemon into that spot say bye bye luckily my friend let me trade my special pokes into his game i reset and he traded them back =) SO NOW YOU KNOW AFTER THIS LONG DIALOGUE.
