Title: Here comes Autumn

Summary: (Mainly set in Autumn’s POV) I can’t take it anymore! This maid café is great, but I want to get out and explore the world for once, like Brock! I just wish my sisters would let me… I’ll show them I’m strong enough by leaving and bringing home Pokémon and badges!

Genre: Action/ Adventure (and occasional humor)

Prologue:

I frowned, it was dinner time and once again, I was trying to convince my sisters of letting me leave. I sat at a wooden rectangle well known as our table. It was messy as usual, with cook books, ingredients and loose papers. But it also held the food we were eating.

Spring sighed, “Autumn we don’t have time for this! We need to finish our dinner and find a good recipe for our milk!”

“Well I’m not going to help; if I don’t want to work you can’t make me!” I yelled. I angrily got up from my seat and rushed to my bedroom. I slammed the door and dropped onto my bed.

I cried, “Why can’t they understand? They’re my sisters and they act like they’re both my mother!” I cried into my plain white pillow, as I wore her same old black and gray apron. I hadn’t changed out of my work clothes all day. Not that I had really been working lately; I usually just gazed at the sky with Ilta wishing for adventure and love.

I felt the soft feeling of my bed under my pillow until my fingers reached a hard fabric. Curios, I pulled out a pink book that read, “Autumn’s Diary!” She flipped to the last page, and read my latest entry, I had completely forgotten about this book. It was basically about how I was fed up of my sisters’ bossy attitudes and how I wanted to leave. It said one thing in particular though that caught my eye.

“I swear, if I have to put up with my sisters one more time, I’ll run away and leave them here! All the while I’ll be going out on my own adventure, and find Brock and show him all the gym badges I’d win!” I chuckled to myself as I read. But right then and there it gave me an idea; I’ll do just what it says! Today, at midnight when my sisters are asleep, I’ll pack up and leave with Ilta. I’ll catch more Pokémon and defeat the Sinnoh league!

I got my backpack and put in my hairbrush, P-Js, clothes, hair products, a tooth brush, tooth paste, a case for her badges, a pen and her diary. ‘I should probably put in some food, but Spring and Summer are still awake in the kitchen. I’ll have to wait for when they’re sleeping…’ I reminded herself.

She got out another pen and paper and wrote a small list. ‘Let’s see, I could probably use this…’ She finished her small list and re-read it: Sandwiches, paper plates, paper bowls, paper cups, plastic forks knives and spoons, sleeping bag, pillow and matches. How was she going to fit all this? I’ll haft to buy this stuff in Solaceon Town, including one of those vests that Brock has. Then I can store medicine and smaller stuff in there and bigger stuff in a better back pack. For now I’ll haft to pack less…

It was finally midnight and the house was dead quiet. Then I walked through the dark hallway with a flash light. I walked straight to the kitchen carrying my heavy gray backpack that had a sleeping bag attached to it. I got some ingredients for a lettuce and tomato sandwiches, and I got out my favorite cereal, poke oaks. I put them into a garbage bag attached to a string and wrapped the string around me, making it another bag. I sneaked out the back door and ran to the barn.

I found Ilta and my sisters’ other Milktank. I carefully stepped over to mine and took out my poke ball, quietly returning Ilta. Then I ran out of the backyard and down the route to Solaceon town.

******

I was running for quite some time now! It was pitch-black with trees all around me and very tall grass. It didn’t seem like a good idea to sleep here, unless I could find an opening. It was also very scary, maybe I should go back? What was that noise! Is something following me? Dark areas sure can pull a lot of tricks on your mind; I for one didn’t like it. Why did I run away again?

In my state of panic I had to calm myself down, I’m doing this for my dream. ‘The darkness is only playing tricks on you Autumn, calm down!’ I comforted myself. Maybe I’m just really tired, but where will I sleep? I looked around and all I could see was incredibly tall healthy green grass. But then I remember something we had to do to our backyard, flatten the grass!

‘It’s worth a try,’ I thought as I called out Ilta for help. Ilta was tired and curios as to how she got to the field. I remembered I hadn’t told her yet about our journey, “Ilta, I ran away from home so we could go out on our own journey and do what we’ve wanted to do! So can you help me flatten the grass so we can rest here?” Ilta happily nodded and started tackling the grass, while I also helped out the best I could.

Once we had made a circle to lie down in, I took out my sleeping bag and returned Ilta with a thank you. I lay down and waited for morning, but it was hard with the darkness once again playing tricks on my mind.

******

I woke up to early morning sunlight in my face directly. I got out of the sleeping bag and called out Ilta, and then I went to my nearby back pack for some food. But there was a problem, the bag was ripped! I forgot to hang the bag on a tree so no one would take it! I looked around; all that was left was the bread for the sandwiches and lettuce… I looked around and noticed a tomato that was lying on the ground bitten and dirty. Whoever the Pokémon is doesn’t like tomatoes very much… But I found something else that was useful, a trail of round honey covered cereal, the poke oaks!

I packed up my bag and smiled at Ilta, “We just haft to follow this trail and we’ll find the thief!” Ilta nodded and we followed the trail until it came to a stop by the tree. I panicked, “Oh no! It must’ve been a bird, that’s why it stopped here! Now we’ll never find our food!” Ilta sighed and pointed at the whole in the tree.

There inside of the big whole, was a Teddiursa, a brown little teddy bear with a crescent on its forehead and two adorable black eyes. I couldn’t help but swoon over the pokemon’s incredible cuteness! Ilta sighed; the Teddiursa held the box of cereal that I didn’t notice until Ilta pointed at it.

I gasped, “How can such a cute Pokémon do such a crime!” I ignored the cute fact finally and tried to take the box away from the Teddiursa, but the bear Pokémon just cried. Then larger versions of Teddiursa appeared, they also looked more vicious, these were Ursarings. Three of them popped out of the bushes growling at me and Ilta. Both our faces turned to a look of horror, as the Ursarings all used hammer arm to shoot us up and away.

“But they stole our food!!!” I cried wailing as we were shot through the air. ‘So far this adventure isn’t working out for me!’ I thought. Ilta was also freaking out and we realized then and there we were heading for a cliff; we hugged each other and screamed for our lives.

“Help them Mismagius!” We heard someone call. Suddenly our bodies were enveloped by a purple outline and we were brought safely to the edge of the cliff. We sighed of relief and looked up to see who saved us…
