Type effectiveness. No I'm not doing several kinds this time, thanks. Decide before Thursday.

[bp=User talk:TTEchidna/TypeEffect]Comment here[/bp] or in the thread (preferably both) and tell me what you think of it.

They look great, though the contrast in Electric and Ice boxes isn't very great. Then again, black text could make them look awkward... I don't know. Design-wise, they're excellent at least.

the way it is now does not make as much sense as before.

Listing them as percentage multipliers is interesting, but it's better visually to see them in the 'super effective' 'not very effective' 'immune' and 'normal effective' categories.

Umm, what are you talking about? All that's been done is a 'graphical upgrade'. It still lists them in exactly the same way, just with more roundy corners and less plain white.

Maybe I caught it in the middle of the update, it was just all the types listed in 2 columns, with bars of varying lengths next to them to show damage taken.

Oh, right. I remember seeing that. That was when the tepmlates were being moved to avoid redundancy, so for a short while an old template ended up on the pages. Given that for a while it was appearing on some pages but not others there was probably an element of server cache in the 'glitch'.

You got a glimpse at how Bulbapedia looked back when I joined; that template went out of use in 2006 when we moved to the non-weighted version for DP (since formerly, we had it take into account physical/special difference). We just never redirected and so... yeah. Now that the type effectiveness is gonna stay the way it is, though, I moved it back. And since then, of course, that template went from bars to being the chart we have now.
