It came up in a recent thread Infinite Sceptile posted, so I decided to start a fan club for anyone who likes the TV show Heroes.

So, shall we begin a discussion?

Like, how insanely long is it gonna feel between the end of next Monday's episode and when the show comes back again? Also, who do you think is going to die?

I don't care, so long as it's not Hiro or Pete getting it.

Yay, Heroes! ^_^ One of only two new shows I'm following this season, the other being Studio 60 (convenient, ne?)

My favorite character is Hiro, the loveable geek that he is. I don't think he's marked for death in Monday's ep--remember how he came back from the future to give Peter the message?

I think what they want us to believe is that Nikki's husband is gonna eat it (at her hand), you know, his head in the crosshairs and the gunshot at the end of last week's ep (and the week before). But why would they be showing us this repeatedly if they weren't going to pull a twist?

Wait, come to think of it, there are TWO Hiros in the same timeline now. So they COULD kill off one Hiro and we'd still have a Hiro. But that could get messy...it would depend on how they choose to interpret the dimension of time (multiple universes?)

Augh, I really don't know, and I don't really want any of them to die yet (even the ambiguously bad ones...because you know Sylar's gonna become a good guy). I feel like we just got to know these characters! Can't wait for Monday!!

Unfortunately, I've only seen three or four episodes of it. I did see the last two, and it had me hooked. Wikipedia's thorough article was a great help.
I think the show will be back on in late January, or February. Give time for Christmas junk, ya know?
Anyhoo, I predict Nikki will bite the dust. D.L. is too obvious. They only want us to think that.
Peter, Hiro, and Claire are the most important characters, so their death is unlikely. Eden is also possible. But would she count?
Dude, did you even see last week's episode? Sylar is a dangerous psychopath who will stop at nothing to murder all those with powers. He won't turn good, and can only get more evil.
Mr. Bennet is confusing. Just what is he? What are his motives? Is he evil?

Mr. Bennet, at this, point (I just call him "Claire's dad" really) seems lawful neutral to me (to use the D&D alignments). But then, we don't know everything about him yet, so it's anyone's guess, really.

And yeah. Sylar's pure evil. And psychotic. I'm with you on Nikki though.

Heh. Have you picked up the subtleties of the three or four episodes you happen to have seen, or were you just watching the action?

I was really just being facetious when I said Sylar's gonna become "a good guy," referring to the show's penchant for twists and surprises. But really, if you think about it, it's not too far-fetched an idea. Sylar's now in the custody of Eden and the Haitian the last we saw him--and we saw how Mr. Bennet and the Haitian pulled Eden back from the criminal lifestyle. Sylar has absorbed the powers of other people, who are now dead. Those powers might have been useful to the cause of saving New York (later the world?) from destruction. Sylar, with the help of the Haitian/Eden/Mr. Bennet would realize there are things bigger than his own selfish bitterness, and also that he could accomplish his own goal of being special and recognized NOT by being a villain, but by being a HERO and helping the rest when the time comes. I mean, is the show not called "Heroes?"

I'm NOT saying this WILL happen--who knows what will happen, as this show keeps us all guessing. But even IF Sylar ends up becoming the cause (of the nuclear disaster) instead of the solution, I'm hoping this show will be above the frankly lame and quite played Good vs. Evil dialectic. Heroes has already shown us character development and a very involved mystery, and for that I don't rule out the possibility of Sylar eventually teaming up with the heroes instead of destroying them.

Yeah, Mr. Bennet creeps me out too. It's like he wants to help the mutants (it's hard not to make the parallel ^_^), but I think there are more self-serving motives behind him than say, those of Dr. Suresh.
