I started watching this show a while back, and I was suprised just how good it was. I thought it would be cliche, funky, and campy, but it's turning out to be quality sci-fi drama. Anyone else watched this?
PS. Hiro rules.

Apparently I need to go and resurrect the old topic I made in the comics forum about this. So I don't have to repeat myself. Wrote some good stuff in that thread.

Great show, though.

Why don't we just start a fan club (runs off to Fun, Clubs and Games)

I too, am hooked. Don't know what I'm gonna do after Monday, though... I'm not sure I'll be able to handle the wait till January.

I've been watching, and I'll probably keep watching.

Believe me, the scenes with Hiro are even better for those of us who understand Japanese.

I need to catch up on the last 3 episodes I tivoed. I enjoy Claire, Peter, Nathan, Hiro, and Ando. The rest of the cast isn't very interesting to me. I'm especially constantly annoyed by weepy Nikki.

I'm glad Sylar was finally revealed. He eats people's brains! To steal their powers! That's just freaky!

I was slightly dissapointed that they're taking the same explanation as X-men for their powers, though. It's basically a more low-key version of X-men. Although I would love an episode where Hiro tries to make a costume for himself.

Actually, it's more in the vein of Rising Stars. The guy who came up with the idea for Heroes even admits to starting to read Rising Stars, then setting it down when he realized his idea was simliar (he didn't want his ideas influenced by it). It's really only similar to X-Men in that the abilities seem to be natural (rather than being brought about by radiation, technological means, or being an alien), which was hardly a new concept, even when the X-Men debuted.

Holy Shit!
Tonight's episode was earth-shattering.
In more than one way. O.O
So as not to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, I'll just say this: Mr. Bennet is really messed up, and the heroes coming together might not be such a good idea.

Jebus. Has anyone heard what happened with Zach? NBC was forced to issue a press release to gay sites saying Zach was straight.

Here's what happened, according to TV Guide and a few other places:

* Thomas Dekker (The guy who plays Zach) is very likely gay himself, and has chiefly played gay characters in the past
* But he's got a leading role in a new TV series and is leaving Heroes.
* His management (possibly with or without his approval) is trying to shove him back in the closet to make him more marketable now that he's getting more choice roles. They basically pitched a fit at the producers until they removed Zach's coming out scene in Homecoming and his sexuality from the show and episode summaries. The character was being written out anyways, so the producers sighed and agreed.
* In order to make it up to gay viewers, the producers want to introduce a gay main character next season, since Zach was part of the supporting cast anyways.

Really bad call on Dekker's part. Now he comes off as a self-hating gay, instead of just gay, now this blew up in his face.

I was mad at the producers and writers until I found out that this was a pretty clear-cut case of an actor trying to half-assedly hide his sexuality now that he's grasping for more spotlight. Sad, really - making a big deal out of this is going to haunt his career more than just staying quiet or coming out. Nobody wants to hire an actor who comes off as both gay and homophobic.

But Hell, we'll get ourselves a new gay superhero next year, so I can't be too upset since Zach was leaving the show anyway now that the story is leaving the "coming of age, finding your powers" phase behind.
