And I'm a relatively new returnee to the Pokémon franchise!
I started back in 1998 when I got the Game Boy Color shortly after it's release, along with a copy of Pokémon Red which I played almost all day, every day. got invested into the series, went on to Pokémon Yellow, then Gold, then Crystal (I still own my second Gameboy Color, the first's screen broke and my current one lacks sound), all of which I still have around somewhere.
After that, life got busy and I kind of... had to abandon the series, I've played Crystal well into 2003-2004 and until the release of Pokémon X and Y I haven't really been keeping up at all. I bought a Nintendo 2DS (no belittling please, I can only spend so much on recreation) with a copy of Pokémon X, and got re-familiarized with the series and all it's new additions once more.
I guess I'm an infamous 'genwunner' at heart, but not for any reasons of elitism, simple nostalia is all. I do have plenty of fun taking over new worlds with new pocket monsters, and since the release of the Pokémon bank I have bought myself a trio of used copies as well; Pokémon Platinum, Pokémon SoulSilver, and Pokémon Black version 2. I am still working on Platinum, and damned if it isn't difficult! I hope to one day have all available legendaries to bank towards my X, with my own nicknames, builds, and what-not.
But here I am, regardless of all that. Long-time player, relatively long-time Bulbapedia knowledge base user, brand new forumite!
