There's a bit of a read coming, for those of you who actually care, so I thought I'd clear this bit up right off the bat, so there's no misunderstandings: I have no business here on these forums, in all honestly. I moved on from Pokémon after I hit fourth grade, before the collective suck of the Ruby/Sapphire and Diamond/Pearl eras could ruin my memories of "the glory days;" where my friends and I ran around proudly flaunting our level 60-odd Dragonites and Typhlosions in Crystal, and were hailed as true Pokémon Masters. None of this it-takes-twenty-hours-to-raise-one-Pokémon-because-oh-my-God-EVing-is-so-fun-and-rewarding bullcrap. I'm here on accident, because sometimes nostalgia gets the better of us. I'm strongly opinionated, and even though I may be less up-to-date on the "latest and greatest" Pokémon news as the rest of you, once I make my mind up about something, you'll have a hella hard time trying to change it. Hopefully I don't make you all hate me too soon, because of that.

That said: Eyo, I'm Andrew! I'm fifteen (sixteen, come October); gonna be a sophomore in high school, next month. I play lacrosse and guitar, and about two years ago a good friend of mine got me into doing some creative writing (both poetry and short stories), so maybe you'll be seeing a bit of that, at some point. I don't usually join online forums, so I apologize if I'm going about this introduction thing all wrong. My best subjects are English (Honors, because that's how I roll) and gym, but that probably goes without saying: who likes math or science, anyways? Ick.

My stay on these forums might be just for a few days, or it might be for a few years. It depends on how many friends and enemies I make. It's less about the content and more about the community, for me, I think. I won't be jumping in on every Pokémon discussion in the world, because as I said earlier, I have no reason to acknowledge the existence of the third generation onwards. Maybe one of you will do the impossible and change my mind, but I wouldn't try too hard. (What the fuck is a Bidoof, anyway?!) It's not like I'll look down on you for disagreeing, or anything. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

If there's anything else you want to know about me, just ask away. I love questions, and I'll answer anything and everything as fully and honestly as I can. Otherwise, that's about it, I think! I won't be logging on every day, so don't look for me all over the place, but I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you!

I also "got over" pokemon around fourth grade (fifth, actually, but I'm a year older than you), but I got into it again freshman year.

And about bidoof - uh - let's just say it's good you haven't had to put up with it.

I too quit pokemon in 6th grade, but I got back into it my senior year of high school (I skipped Crystal as well as the whole 3rd generation and the first bit of the 4th). Now I'm in college and I play all the time on Platinum. I had serious doubts as to whether it would be as fun as it used to be, but some of my friends convinced me to play the new games, so that's where I am today.
 
Ah yes... another Gen III hater, and by extension, a Gen IV one aswell. I won't try and convince you to try them out or anything, because as you said, it would be a hell of a lot of trouble. Perhaps by staying here, you'll learn more about Gen V, and maybe it'll appeal to you, as it has to many others.

@Ken the Pen: I'm looking forward to sharing my writing, too! It's definitely one of the first things on my to-do list, once I get situated here. I might even end up trying a Pokéfic if I get bored enough, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it; I don't want to commit to something I'm almost definitely going to regret, an hour later. Once I hit the 15 posts I need to send private messages, I just might have to take you up on that offer, haha! Can't have too many friends, am I right?

@lmao: Thank you for reading it all haha, it wasn't that much, was it? Either way, your patience and dedication to my awesomeness are much appreciated! And I mean, really. What the hell were they on, when they came up with that thing? "Oh hey, what if we do a fluffy Zigazagoon this time, and slap Timmy Freaking Turner's teeth on it!"

@EyeKanFly: Well, the required reading is enough to almost make me hate English, but when you're like me and can slip hilariously inappropriate racy comments and jokes into essays, and still get A's and B's? It's a good life. Makes homework so much easier, even if my teachers do always hate me for it. Besides, it's not like I'm in college yet — SparkNotes has me completely and totally covered, when I decide that a day with the ladies (I love how they hate when we call them that) sounds more fun than reading A Tale of Two Shitties. ;) (Which it always is, obviously, so good news for me!) As far as math goes, the only thing keeping me from driving pencils through my eyeballs during it is... nothing, actually, other than an unconditional love for my eyeballs. Huh. Who knew.

@Blazaking EX: I've actually done a bit of poking around, hoping I wouldn't be completely crushed by what they're doing with Gen V. I hate the Pokémon designs, for the most part, but I wasn't expecting to be impressed, to begin with. Rotation battles actually seem kinda interesting, I'm gonna have to keep an eye out for anything new regarding them. Who knows? Maybe it'll be the secret ingredient that brings me back for another go.

You're right, it wasn't very much but I am a lazy person, after all. I've seen longer as well. Lol patience and dedication to your awesomeness? I like you already, bahaha.

But yes, Timmy Turner (Fairly Odd Parents iirc?) teeth indeed!

I'll be adding you because we have too much in common :3

I do hope you're willing to give gen v a chance, though. I too didn't like the pokemon at first but the features and graphics look amazing. Not liking Diamond/Pearl is forgivable -- I didn't like them all that much either.

Yeah, it was a FOP reference. In all honestly, I forgot the show even existed, until I went to make the joke. Happens to me all the time, it's sick haha. Friend request accepted, awesome haha, thanks! I'm hoping I can bring myself to try Gen V, too. If I can get over my hate for the new Pokémon (God, I hate copy-pasting that damn accented é), I'm totally gonna give it a go. It could be pretty legit.
