HGSS beta thread

Don't you have to hack to get to beta data?
But either way, I haven't heard of a news of HGSS's beta stages. (if there are any)

Yes, that's why I was asking others. I don't know how to hack games lol.

Every game goes through a beta-phase. However, most of the time these betas are not released to the public unless they get leaked (lol Doom 3 alpha) or the developer decides to hold an open beta (allowing consumers to demo/test the product).

Anyway I'm pretty sure most of the beta components that were updated for the final release have been removed from the product. Of course only someone with nds hacking ability could find out for sure.

Alright, wow, if no one finds anything, then they must of swiped it clean, the only things i can think of is the characters Gold and Silver sprites.
 
Early screenshots showed a different sprite for Silver.

Also, if you hack into the coding, you find dozens of unused sprites: the backsprites for Barry from both DP and Platinum along with every key item from the Gen 3 games forward.

That's not really beta...those are just unused sprites.
 
Yep. HGSS was built on Platinum's engine, so they didn't delete Platinum leftovers. They were never meant to be used, though.

For beta materials, we've seen early sprite for Silver and backsprite for Gold (which used to have some character on it, removed for unknown reasons)
