HGSS PokeSpe arc: How is PokeSpecial going to handle Soul?

She's too different for Kris to just get a new dress like they did with Blue. And there will be a HeartGold SoulSilver arc. What will the team do? Make her the viewpoint character as the new starting trainer dealing with the crazy crap going on? Make her starter Notched-Ear Pikachu? Any thoughts?

Also, hopefully Gold will be able to get Ambipom, Totaro will evolve into Togekiss, and Silver will get Murkrow and Weavile.

I'm not so sure about that, particularly with Gold and Silver likely getting the new outfits from the HGSS boy and rival, respectively, and I doubt they'd want to leave Kris out of that, or bother creating a new outfit for her themselves. Also, the HGSS girl's hair vaguely resembles Kris's--that is, they both have gravity-defying pigtails--which they may consider enough to justify putting Kris in the HGSS girl's clothes.
 
When was it stated that the female protgonist of HGSS name was Soul? If they she will be made into a seperate character in Pokemon Special the HGSS protagonist could be Crystal's sister or cousin. I do not know what her name would be since all of the Pokedex Holder are name after video games excluding the prefix of the remakes. So they might make her a main character, but not a Pokedex Holder. If not then I guess the writers will have to make Crystal make those clothes. She might wear them if her mother force her to wear them though, she might wear them because if was giving to her as a gift from a person she is very close to, or she could have been zap with a ray which causes her personality to be altered. Also the female protagonist of HGSS is wearing overall shorts not a dress.

Honestly I'm hoping they miscolored the female protagonist's hair in the magazine scan.
I'd hate to see Crys get shafted...

Uh... Huh. That'd be interesting. Is that really possible though? Though I must admit that'd be awesome if they did miscolor it and it's supposed to be blue. :p
 
Either Crys will get HGSS clothes without change her hairstyle and dying her hair ala Red still had his black hair and same hairstyle even though the FRLG boy's hair color and hairstyle changed during the FRLG arc. (Cry's Mom will probably force her to wear the new clothes because Crys would never wear those clothes in a million years xD) Or they could introduce her as a new character meh. :/

But there was something interesting Coronis pointed out on Serebii, Crys originally had Brown hair in PokeSpe, but it was changed to Blue when Vol.10 got published. However, recently, on the cover of Vol.27, her hair was brown. Unless, Kusaka and co. were informed of the situation in HGSS, there was no reason to change it for a recent volume.

EDIT-New girl's hair is brown in both Famistu AND Coro-Coro,doubt they would miscolor it for both mags.
 
Shoot. And do you have a screenshot of the PokeSpe issues where her hair was brown? I'd like to see how that looks...

I'm guessing that she'll be Kris's cousin or something, and with Kris being incapacitated for some reason, she steps up to take on being a Pokedex owner.

but the more I keep ignoring the fact that she's not Kris, the more I kinda like her...
 
What would her name be since all of the dex holders are named after the video games excluding the prefixes of the remake games? Pokemon Special has yet to ever have a Pokedex Holder that was not named after a main Pokemon video game. To be honest I would rather have Crystal dress in those clothes than have there to be a new character in Pokemon Special, but if they must add a new character then so be it.

Put a gigantic hat on Krys. It flattens her bangs and pushes her hair differently. As for the color, if they DO decide to establish it as blue in the originals, they could just say she dyes it/decided to stop dying it (heck, it worked for Catwoman going black when BTAS changed animation styles--they just said she stopped dying her hair blonde because the company that made her dye had tested on cats).
 
The best way is to keep Gold/Silver/Crystal trio as main characters (they won't ignore Crystal's existence, I'm sure) and add the new girl as a supporting role.

Or simply - to create a custom boy character named Heart/Soul. They did that with Yellow and Emerald so... maybe?

It will be a little break from tradition - as we don't have characters named Fire and Leaf but could work...
 
My opinion, the best way to do this is another version of Yellow's story, but for Soul. Fourth character is introduced, has their own special goal that ties into the plot, and the other three play supporting roles.

Frankly, they could just barely justify tying Leaf and Blue together because there was enough similarity and Leaf was based on Blue's original character design as the female trainer from RBGY that couldn't be used because of memory limitations.

However, Kris and Soul don't seem to share any physical traits aside from being female. And since Soul will be an NPC for those playing Gold, she'll end up with her own personality and goals that will be defined by such a role.
 
Soul just seems like a heavily reworked Kris, much like Red. Though, Red had a reason for his extreme redesign (in hair atleast), to make him more similar to Leaf.

I could see Kris's clothes being significantly changed, though I cannot really see her in that type of hat, but it would be easier to create an entirely new story arc if they just introduce Soul as a new character.

She looks like a psycho farmgirl to me.

But from a design standpoint, Gold is just a slightly reworked Red.
 
From an overworld standpoint, Gold is just Red with a backwards hat.

Hm, if Crys (Special girl) has brown hair now... "Soul" could be Kris in all actuality.

They don't make it very obvious... but eh, maybe.
 
Well I haven't gotten to the chapters in which Kris has brown hair, but I can say that either they'll make Soul Kris's cousin or something or just like a new Pokédex Holder, or they'll change Kris's outfit if her hair's blue again then they'll leave it blue, I mean they didn't change Red's hair color and style,why change Kris's.
 
Y'know how Blue took Leaf's design, but no Leaf character was made? I think Crys will take up a similar-to-Soul look. (speculate)
