I could have just left that emoticon there and it probably would have been enough of a greeting given the name and all, but no, that's just a nickname and not an indicator of my running speed nor my intellect. (I actually usually go by Slowgale but since Slow was actually available I decided to go with my shortened nickname, hooray!)
I'm a fan of Pokemon, been playing off and on since the days of Gold and Silver (Silver all the way; RIP battery though =( ). I like to do challenges and Nuzlocke things. I've been trying to do a Shinylocke onY X ever since August, but after over 25 hours of soft resetting, I think I'm just going to give up and try to complete the Pokedex from scratch between my Y X and the Omega Ruby I just got with some eShop cards from Christmas.
It seemed like a good time to try and get involved in the community, maybe it will even help with trades and Pokedex completion. Not sure if there's a place to keep track of Pokedex progress or if it even matters, but since I heard that all of the Pokemon can be gotten between the sixth generation games it seemed like a good quest to do. I want to get that Shiny Charm and then hunt shinies.
As for me in general, I'm kind of old (20+, I'll leave it at that =| ), often busy, kind of quiet, shy and reserved (kind of private about things, too, sorry), and I think that's about it. I like cats. My favorite Pokemon is probably Meowstic but I also like Slowking, Slowbro, and Slowpoke a lot in case it wasn't obvious, particularly Slowking. I've kind of been going back and forth lately.
My hope is that I can complete my Pokedex using just those two games and trades so I can get the shiny charm in Omega Ruby. Hopefully I can meet that goal this year (I think I can do it sooner than that!).
