I got my first taste of Pokemon back in 1999 when Pokemon Yellow was on display at Toys R' Us. I didn't even know about RPGs then (though I had Super Mario RPG) but I found it strangely charming... Soon, I got a teal colored Gameboy Color and Yellow. Red and Blue were bought later. I have gotten all three versions in every generation since. I first found this forum through Bulbapedia and Dogasu's linking to it on his website. 
Anyway, looks like there's a lot of information to be found here so I'll be enjoying myself. ^^
Also... I may be one of the few people who can claim to have seen a pre-release Raichu card... It was $45... But I didn't have enough money at the time. ;_; When I went back to the shop, it was gone. The shop has gone out of business since then...
