Of course, there are many words where our spelling and pronounciation differ.

Take colour and color for example.

Yeah, that difference I'm well aware of, I myself spell "color" ... "colour". I don't know if this makes any sense but 'it just makes more sense to me'? xD

Yeah I think I'll stick to my english.. although it'd be sweet to learn the British Pronounciation/Grammar it sounds so much more proper but that's just in my opinion. xD

Not to say we say trunk and you say boot.

We say hood and you say bonnet.

We say gasoline and you say petrol.

What was it said about the UK and the USA? That we were divided by a common language?

When we do say we're going to fill up the car with gas, we're referring to LPG.

Amazing how one language can be so different in different countries. Then again, a lot of languages have differences depending on where you are.
 
Even within the USA there are many different ways of word usage. Maybe the spelling is all the same but some word are used differently. I've had people look at me weird before when I visit other states, so I have personal experience on the subject. xD
 
Does anyone have a problem with me moving this thread to the Real World forum? I think there is some potential for discussing/debating American and British English.
