Anyone seen this yet?

The anime adaptation of the manga just started being released. They're up to 6 episodes now, and it's bloody awesome!

Discuss.

I've seen screencaps on a certain subgroup's release page. Doesn't look like my kind of anime, I got the feeling that it tries to concentrate more on large boobs than action.

While the anime is good far, it was too much panties and boobs for my liking. The manga was a bit more tame than the anime was :\.

Wayyyy too much fanservice (actually, for awhile it looked like they toned the fanservice down a bit, then they had to go and have a bathing episode), but when it's good, it's good. The action scenes are pretty impressive.

Saw the first episode and I have to agree on the fanservice. Now, I like it as much as the next guy but when it starts to border with Eiken... yeah...

I'll probably watch the rest though. seems like a good show with an interesting premise.

My boyfriend really likes it, but I haven't had a chance to watch it yet~

For people who knew about the manga, I dunno what they were expecting from the anime in terms of fanservice...

Well, so far I've made it to the 5th episode. Yeah, there is fanservice, but the writing is good, the action is good, and the characters are believable and interesting.

While I don't really care for huge turnouts of fanservice, I will give this one thing... at least the girls (age technicality aside) are grown and developed instead of the little girls Japan has been churning out recently in their anime, which is just sick.

There, I'm caught up... ep. 6 has an absurd amount of fanservice. Quite the mood whipslash episode because you bounce between girls with watermelons glued to their chests wrestling in the tub to zombie apocalypse.

Yeah, the director of the anime Tetsuro Araki has said straight up this is how he would envision a zombie apocalypse. Full of jiggling breasts. I aint complaining but I gotta say he has a pretty bright outlook on things...

The BD/DVD are gonna sell like crazy though, as with most shows that have this much censoring.

WTF? Highschool of the Dead has an anime? WHY AM I JUST NOW LEARNING OF THIS?!

Love it.

No doubts. One of my favourite manga/anime. But, fanservice is way too excessive =\

and with that, i lost interest.
Seriously, can't they make a good anime without fanservice?

then it wouldn't be anime I guess.

But in the end, I suppose the fan service is sort of a good thing. In a heavy show about a zombie apocalypse where you are forced to endure your family as the undead and the collapse of society, it's good to have lighthearted moments that aren't as heavy. Like the Thenardiers in Les Mis.

I suppose the more intense an episode, the more bouncing is needed to balance everything out.

Sorry for the kind of annoying bump but one wonders if this will ever see the light of day on dvd/blu down here in Aus Madman have 2 eps in screening room but I want to see a dvd/blu release of it

Now, I just finished all twelve episodes and I have to say....There is no such things as "too much fanservice". I thought every aspect of the anime was great. If you can't stand how much fanservice is in it, don't watch it. Simple as that.

I watched the whole 12 episodes last saturday, it's not too bad, I liked the action scenes

Just want to point out that the Manga is worse than the anime with regards to fanservice, IMO. Also something that is missed big time by the anime is the amount of politics in the manga. I am in love with this series, though, as Zombie movies are some of my favorites, and now they have an anime to go along with it.

Should be getting it dubbed soon, which could be interesting.

Interesting side note, a Simon Pegg look a like makes an appearance in the third episode, I believe.
