While probably not very likely Gardenia says in your Villa something like "I hate Ghost pokemon, but what if there was a Grass/Ghost pokemon?" Its a stretch but i thought I'd bring it up.

I don't think that's really any kind of hint... These Gen5 threads are getting way out of hand.

We don't have anything substantial to talk about for Gen V, yet.

See, this is why I wanted the original thread to be a sticky, so all the stuff that's not big enough for its own thread could go there.

Yeah, like we had with HGSS.

People still made small, pointless topics in the HGSS subsection of the forum... But, I have to agree guys, this subsection seriously needs a "Simple Questions" kind of thread.

Uh, what about the statue in Eterna City? It doesn't look like any pokémon that's in the games at the moment.

That's just the gamemakers saving time by making one sprite that's supposed to be Dialga or Palkia, depending on what game you're playing.

Stop posting simply to say the topic is meaningless.

Let the moderators decide that. If it's a big deal to you, feel free to report it. Unless you're being ridiculous, you'll probably never get in trouble for reporting posts. On the other hand, posting things like "this doesn't deserve a thread" is low-end minimodding, not to mention irritating, and, of course, it adds nothing to the thread.

Thanks.

It makes perfect sense for the statue to look the way it does in platinum. Palkia and Dialga were pokemon that like nobody ever really saw, so the fact that the statue doesn't look exactly like it makes sense. People would have different ideas of what they would look like.

Is it that unrealistic to wonder about different types? She loves grass, hates ghosts. Sounds like a sound question. Is it a hint? Maybe. But it's very subtle.

This. Look at what the picture-book version of Entei looked like in the third movie. Your average NPC hasn't traveled across the land OR searched far and wide. ;)

*cough cough* Professor Oak Professor Rowan Steven Stone Bill...

...I'm sorry, I'm utterly failing to see how this relates to what they were saying at all.
As in they are all non playable characters who have indeed traveled around the world.

What JL Pikachu was getting at was that aside from the player most characters haven't been all around the world. Most of the people just stay home.

Pretty much, it was sort of a pun on the American theme song. I'm saying that since we see the Pokemon world through the eyes of the guy or gal who happens to stumble across every legendary Pokemon, evil plot, and dark secret of the universe we know things that we can't expect everyday townspeople to comprehend. EX. Lucas knows about Giratina from actually seeing it in a crazy encounter at a bunch of ruins with the head of an insane cult (and actually fighting it in the distortion world), whereas an average soccer mom in Goldenrod would have no way to know firsthand what a previously unseen Pokemon would look like aside from legends.

...Which is still entirely true, as most haven't. I have no idea how Doofen came to the conclusion that "4 have" and "most haven't" are mutually exclusive.

A actually don't think that's a hint, but a jack-o-lantern grass ghost type would be cool.
