Hirotaka Suzuoki, the voice of Sakaki, is dead

This is very sad.

I wonder if this will affect Sakaki's appearance as Japan doesn't like to replace VA's like that, it would be disrespectful
 
May he rest in peace like the others said.

This could be quite a shake up. This could mean having to write out a lot of Team Rocket if they continue. Though, they could have Sakaki die in the series and that's how TR ends.
 
Giovanni barely talks as it is, Meowth usally does his voice in the fantasies anyway.

All though, we are gonna have problems if Giovannai was his father.

Dieing would be kinda surprising for Pokemon.
 
The Giovanni fantasies will stop because they're not going to make fun of him anymore, most likely.

Well,it shouldn't have a huge impact on the series,we didn't hear the real Gio all that much to begin with.If they really did get a new VA for Gary,I guess they'd have no problem finding a new actor to play Giovanni.And as Habunake said,hopefully this doesn't alter any plans that might've had for a Gio/Ash storyline. <<;



But yeah,this is very sad news.I really enjoyed his performance in MSB.
 
Giovanni's never in the anime anyway. He makes less appearences than Ritchie. I sincerely doubt this will affect the anime in any way shape or form.

And the extremely minor speaking parts for Giovanni can merely be done by another actor. It's not as if he's part of the main cast.

That said, it's extremely sad to hear and a really sucky way to go. :/
 
Considering he just died like today, they probably have recorded any possible episodes with him in it maybe, as don't they record somewhat in advance?

BTW, Pokeani said it was Lung Cancer. That sucks.
 
He died 4 days ago actually.

And any episodes to come with Giovanni in them will not have been voiced by Susuoki, as he has been off ill with his cancer for the last few months.
 
Oh, that may explain the lack of (actual) Giovanni.
It would be very nice if in one episode Meowth could somehow give a tribute to Suzuoki somehow.

He hasn't actually had a need to be around. The Hoenn Team Rocket subplot ended with The Scheme Team and there has only been one episode showing the rest of Team Rocket since then.
