Now I don't mean literally comparing Scizor and Hitmontop. I mean just looking at them in general in their own tiers.
-They can both be Technician.
-Both can learn some same moves.
-Both can sweep if they have a Choice Band or get a boosted Atk stat. Scizor=Swords Dance Hitmontop=Bulk Up
Now Hitmontop can be a Rapid Spinner and Scizor can be a screener. So both have some similar attributes of a sort. What do you guys think?

I dunno if this is topic worthy...
Scizor has better resistances, as well as better attack. Ambipom is more of the UU scizor

No.

Scizor's attack stats and movepool are much more threatening in his tier. When I think "The Scizor of X", I think, "something that is very very good and the most overused of the overused for good reasons". Maybe Hitmontop and Scizor can fulfill the same role. But Scizor does it much better and threatens his tier much more with it.

Hitmontop has many more support options than Scizor and is often EV'd defensively. You won't see that for Scizor outside of Uber Scizor with SpD. They both have Technician and STAB Priority moves, but they accomplish very different things. I'm going to have to agree with Cheesus that they aren't really the same.

They have some similarities but because of their difference and strengths and weaknesses I wouldn't say one replaces the other.
Daaam my English is so bad >.>
But for the record I prefer and use Hitmontop because its like my favorite Pokemon ;d
