Hoenn Journey: The rescue of Flannery

***Introduction**
Hi everyone, before I start I would like to say sorry for my last story I posted on this forum "Psychological Murder" which I know was just a big mess. Since then I have taken it off and may re-post in the future when it is better written but for the time being I would like to post this story. I hope this story is better^_^

***Chapter 1: Partnerships begin & the disappearance of Flannery***

Like every 10 year old Pokemon trainer they day you turn 10 is the day your life changes, the day new friendship's are built and the day you start a life-long adventure for discovering new Pokemon.
Growing up in Lavaridge Town especially meant I had been around Pokemon all my life, mainly fire type's which meant I always knew I was going to pick a fire type Pokemon as my first Pokemon.
Our local gym-leader was a fun bubbly fire trainer, her name was "Flannery" and she would often help new trainer's in the town get use to Pokemon. Infact, I remember when I was still a young boy walking around in diapers seeing her and her Combusken always training, after a long sessions they would often go in the local sauna and relax, she always told me it was to "relax the body and soothe wounds from battle".
Not only was Flannery a nice person but a great battler. She would often battle new trainer's looking to earn the "Heat Badge" and usually she would win. I remember her saying she only ever lost one battle and that was with her "Grandpa Honokai" who was previously the fire champion of the Hoenn region, no one could defeat him and it was said that he controlled a fire Pokemon so powerful that evil forces would try and capture it.

The day had finally came, as Lavaridge Town was to far from Littleroot Town new trainer's in the town often wouldn't have the normal selection of starter Pokemon. To be persist, there was no definite trio. Nonetheless I knew I wanted a fire type.
The starter Pokemon were located in Flannery's gym so I as I walked up (which I do quite a bit to Flannery's gym) I could see her waiting out the front waving to me with her Blaziken next to her.
"Ruby, over here" she said.
"Hi Flannery, I couldn't sleep last night and have been waiting for ages for this day to come",
"That's good to hear, the Pokemon are inside waiting for you, come in and have look" she said while smiling.
As I walked inside the gym waiting with anticipation I suddenly heard loud stomps, before I could turn around I was knocked over by a large Pokemon.
"Torkoal, that is no way to act to who could be your future trainer, apologize this instant" Flannery said.
Unfortunately for her before I could get up there was more chaos.
Suddenly pine missile hit Torkoal out of nowhere, then a water gun came out of nowhere and hit Torkoal again.]
"Cacnea, Lotad enough"!
Suddenly the gym went silent. So torkoal, cacnea and lotad were my three choices?
"Sorry for this mess Ruby, this isn't like them and I don't understand why they would all attack torkoal like this".
Flannery quickly pushed the Pokemon in front of a table so I could pick which one I wanted.
Naturally as lotad and cacnea were smaller they jumped on the table, that probably would of worked fine until torkoal jumped on the small table to match it’s partner's.
"Torkoal wait"!
It was to late, the minute torkoal's feet hit the table cacnea and lotad were flying in the air.
"Ahh, what do I do, ahh, torkoal no", Flannery was screaming trying to catch lotad and cacnea.

"Ahh, there you go Ruby, now no-one jump on the table please" Flannery said as she put lotad and cacnea on the floor again.
"So Ruby, it's your big moment, who will be your first Pokemon, your starter Pokemon"?
The decision was quick, I was picking who I was always going to pick.
"I pick torkoal".
As I gave the great news a water gun suddenly hit my face with a few pin missiles just behind it.
"Cacnea and lotad, stop that now" but before Flannery could do anything torkoal swang it's head and wacked cacnea and lotad over.
"Oh, um thanks torkoal", it made no sound.
"Congulations Ruby on picking your first Pokemon, may I wish you a long and happy journey".

As Flannery gave me 6 Pokeballs and a Pokedex she reminded me of how this journey could be exciting but also long.
"The Hoenn region is filled with many Pokemon, many discoveies and many secrets, enjoy it Ruby" she said with a big smile on her face.
"Thanks Flannery", I said as I slowly walked away from the gym.

"Come on out torkoal",
"Koal, koal, torkoal" it said to me.
"I hope you and I can have a long and exciting journey",
"Hey you", a voice behind me said,
"Can I help you"?
"Yeah, do you want to have a quick battle, my magcargo is beaming with energy to battle".
"Sure, you ready torkoal"?
This was to be my first Pokemon battle and you could tell, I hadn’t ever seen this trainer before but he surely looked like a rookie trainer.
"Magcargo, use sleep then ember",
"Torkoal dodge and use smoke-screen",
Suddenly the battle-field got smokey and torkoal and magcargo both disappeared,
"CARGO,CARGO", I heard the trainer's magcargo scream.
The smoke dissappeared and I saw magcargo fallen over on the grown.
It was unable to battle and torkoal had won!
I couldn't believe it, I had only had torkoal for 5 minutes and we had already won our first battle, and to a fire/rock type!
"Thanks for the battle, your torkoal has potential, let's meet up soon and battle again", the rookie trainer said before walking off.
"Good job torkoal, here have a Poke...",
I had no pokeblock's, how could I forgot them when I have been researching about having my own Pokemon since I was a baby.
"Sorry torkoal, let's go back to town and get you some Pokeblocks",
"Koal, koal, torkoal", torkoal said to me in a happy voice.

As we walked back to town I was imagining becoming the Hoenn Champion and defeating the master water type trainer "Wallace", but before that I needed to train and defeat 8 gym leader's.
"Help, help, it's an emergency" someone screamed in the middle of the town",
"What is it" I said,
"Flannery is missing, I saw a few team Magqua member's earlier, it must of been them, I hope nothing has happened to her, they must of left the town already, we must find her" they said.
The town suddenly went into a panic trying to find her, team Magqua were an evil team situated here in the Hoenn region, there goal was to apparently awaken ancient legendary Pokemon from deep within Hoenn's history so that they could get to the leader of the trio.
Why would they want Flannery though I wonder? Before I could make any guesses I saw the cacnea and lotad from earlier running around crazily through the town.
"Torkoal let's help them, they must be going crazy trying to find Flannery", as I walked over I noticed they didn't attack me or torkoal this time, it was like they were scared.
"Hey you two, torkoal and I are here to help you, come with us so we can give you to Nurse Joy".
They agreed and jumped on Torkoal's back.
As we walked to the Pokemon Centre I thought to myself, these team Magqua member's must have walked in the minute I left, if only I could of somehow helped more.

In the distance a Wynaut was looking into the gym, it saw everything that had happened to Flannery.
Over in one of the tree hut's of Fortree Town Flannery was roped into a chair with her Blaziken being stuck in an electrical tube.
"We know you and Juan are in this together, tell us how to awaken the Legendary Pokemon of Hoenn's past so we can get to their master" one of the grunt's said.
"I know nothing" Flannery said, however while saying this her red necklace was glowing.
Over in the distance, a rare Purple Kecleon was sitting on a rock and witnessing this whole event.

What will happen to Flannery, will Wynaut and Kecleon be the key to this story? All this and the continuation of Ruby's Journey in Chapter 2 of "Hoenn Journey: The rescue of Flannery".

I haven't read it but for what I could see you need to space more, double space every time a character's gonna talk and for each paragraph, also for what I could see most of the chapter is scripted so try to describe the surroundings and the characters.

***Chapter 2: The journey continues, Castform’s Abilities!?!***

Lavaridge Town had gone into a mode of shock, everyone was on the look out for Flannery after she had been kidnapped by team Magqua, you would only have to step into the centre of the town to see Pokemon flying over you, running around and jumping across trees.
It hurt me to think of what could be happening to Flannery and Blaziken as I speak but there was nothing I could do, I didn’t know where they were and multiple times I had been told by Officer Jenny and her associates to leave the searching up to them.
I decided to take that advice, as you know I recently got Torkoal as my starter Pokemon, my plan was to defeat all the Hoenn gym-leaders and become the champion of the Hoenn region and even with Flannery’s disappearance I still intended on staying with that goal, it’s not like I could have been much help sitting around waiting for some information to come in?
After a week of waiting for information in Lavaridge town I decided to finally set out on my Hoenn journey, my first stop was Fortree city to challenge the Flying type gym leader, Winona.

Unfortunately I hadn’t been able to train my Torkoal much over the past week, infact we hadn’t had a battle with a trainer since the battle with the Magcargo. Torkoal was getting very restless and clearly wanted to let some energy out.

There wasn’t much of a good-bye party when I left Lavaridge town, most people were still trying desperately to search for Flannery so in a way I slipt out quite quietly. That didn’t bother me, I of course told my parent’s I was leaving (no objection as they had known for month’s I was going to) and just before I left I picked up a guidebook with a map of Hoenn in it from the Pokemon centre.
There wasn’t much of a change after I left Lavaridge town, infact as I walked down a path I could see that most of the path was covered in ashes and dust, obviously from the volcano located in Lavaridge town. I couldn’t help but often sneeze and cough as I walked down the path.
There were no people or Pokemon around; it almost felt like a wasteland. I had to sit down before I fainted from all the dust and ashes in the air. I sat on what was probably the only thing which wasn’t covered by dust or ashes in the area, a rock?!

“Torkoal come out”,
“Koal, koal, torkoal”!
Torkoal seemed to be enjoying the surroundings, the minute I let it out it dived straight into a pile of ashes, it began jumping all over the place and playing games with the surrounding’s, it was like nothing I had ever seen before, clearly only a Fire type Pokemon could enjoy these surrounding’s.

Suddenly a great chill came, it was like the whole placed iced over.
Torkoal came running over to me and as I stood up it attempted to hide under me, (unfortunately that didn’t seem to work as it knocked me over in the process).
Hail was beginning to fall from the sky, bigger and faster each time.

“Torkoal return” I said in an worried voice.
I began to run, trying to find a shelter but to no avail I couldn’t find any suitable shelter,
“Ahh, ouch”, I said as shards of ice were hitting my head,
“Stop this please, anyone, help”!!!
It suddenly stopped, the Sun was attempting to rise again.
“What could of done this” I said.
Suddenly I could see the ash flying in the air, suddenly from behind one of the ash piles a Pokemon appeared!
“Castform, castform, castform”, the Pokemon said in a very elegant tone.
The Pokemon looked like a green cloud; well it did until it suddenly turned grey.
“It changed it’s forme, what type of Pokemon is this”, I said?
“Castform” it said again.
The Pokemon attempted to hover away but couldn’t, it was weak and tired, it suddenly fell to the ground.

“Here have a Pokeblock”, I opened the Pokemon’s mouth and gave it one.
Weakly it chewed it down.
“Koal, koal, Torkoal”, Torkoal was trying to speak to it but the Pokemon could barely make a sound. Still in it’s grey forme I wondered what Pokemon this could be.
I decided to check my Pokedex I had received from Flannery a week earlier to see what Pokemon it was.
“Castform, the weather Pokemon. Castform is able to transform it’s appearance depending on the weather. It uses the power of nature to transform in order to protect it’s small body”.
The entry explained it all, Castform really was an interesting Pokemon.
“Castform, castform, castform” Castform had awakened, it was feeling much better. In a matter of seconds it was hovering over both me an Torkoal.
“Koal, koal, Torkoal”, Torkoal was jumping around and running into piles of ashes and dust, it was clearly happy that Castform had awakened and was healthy.
“So where are you from Castform, I have never seen you around Lavaridge town”?
Torkoal was also asking Castform the same question, from what I could tell by Castform’s reaction’s it wasn’t from around here. In-fact it had got quite sad telling Torkoal. I decided to let it tag along until we got to the nearest Pokemon Centre where I could give it over.

Unfortunately the surrounding’s hadn’t improved and as we went further and further down the ashy pathway it became more cloudy. Castform was hovering just over Torkoal and the two of them seem to have become quite good friends.
There were still no Pokemon around and it seemed as we went further in the ashy piles seemed to get larger and larger.
Suddenly Torkoal and Castform stopped.
“Torkoal, koal, koal”,
“Castform, castform, castform”.
“SPINDA”!

A Spinda had popped out of one of the dust piles.
“Spinda, the spot panda Pokemon. Spinda uses it’s seemingly clumsy movements to confuse its opponents. It is said that no two Spinda have the same pattern of dots”, the Pokedex told me.

The Spinda seemed like it was ready to battle, before I knew it was using hypnosis on Torkoal.
“Torkoal dodge”.
The Spinda suddenly jumped in the air and used dizzy punch on Torkoal.
“Torkoal, dodge, no”! It was to late, the attack had already hit Torkoal.
“Torkoal, get up, fight back”, Torkoal wasn’t listening though. It had begun to walk around in circles, not even the sound of Castform’s voice would sooth Torkoal from this problem.
Spinda then suddenly jumped up again and attempted to use psybeam.
“Torkoal, you need to come back”!
Torkoal suddenly went back to normal.
“Torkoal use smog then ember”!
Suddenly Spinda seemed to try and use tackle on Torkoal but it failed, the minute Torkoal used smog I knew we had won this.
Torkoal let out an ember attack and hit it directly at Spinda just before Spinda used tackle on Torkoal.
“Spinda, SPINDA”!
The Spinda hit the floor.
“Good job Torkoal”.
“Koal, koal, Torkoal”.
“Castform, castform, castform”.
Just as I turned around I could see the wild Spinda was standing up. It jumped and ran back into the ashes.
“Well that was a good battle, we got some good experience points from that, don’t you think”?
Both Castform and Torkoal nodded their heads.

Suddenly the dust and ashes blew away. It would seem as Spinda was running away it pushed some of the dust piles away, I found the exit to this route.
As Torkoal, Castform and I finally walked out of the route the hot Sun was burning on us but we were just relieved to get out of that route.
In the distance I could see the local Pokemon centre so I could return Castform there, though when the time comes both Torkoal and I will be very sad, we haven’t know this Castform long but it definitely has a place in our hearts.

My journey has started and each day I was getting closer to my goal, Winona and Fortree city was only a little while away but everyday we got closer.
I just hope Blaziken & Flannery will be found soon and that team Magqua will eventually be stopped.
