Hogan To Host Pokemon 10th Anniversary Party

I didn't see this anywhere yet and thought this would be a neat bit of info.
It seems legendary wrestling star, Hulk Hogan, is going to be the host of the
Pokemon 10th Anniversary Party at Bryant Park in New York.
The date is Tuesday, August 8th.

Not only did we just get word that the Pokémon franchise would be holding its 10th anniversary party at Bryant Park in New York City on Aug. 8, but a lovely PR gal was kind enough to tell us that the Hulkster, Hulk Hogan, would be hosting the festivities. ARE YOU READY FOR THAT BROTHER!?

Even more delicious unconfirmed word of mouth suggests that there will be musical acts during the partaayy, with Brooke Hogan possibly performing. Score!

At the event, little Hulkamaniacs and Pokémon fans will be able to watch the pros get busy with it in a Pokémon XD tournament on the GameCube. They will also be able to download characters and be the first in the "country to play upcoming Pokémon video games." So, mark your calendar kids, cause from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. your world belongs to Pokémon.

Nice...so fighting pokemon anyone?

What's neat is that Nintendo is planning to let party goers try some of the
new pokemon games comming out this fall. Originally I thought this meant
Diamond and Pearl, but realized they probably haven't come close to entering
localization. Most likely they'll be showing off Mysterious dungeon and
Pokemon Ranger.

Would be cool if I could go, but for some reason it's in the middle of the week.. what poor timing. :'(

August 8... is my mother's birthday. And, I think, my exam results go online that day, but that's only available for the school. (Very strange mentality they have over there in England about this, students know less than their teachers do about their own results.)

I also wonder why it's August 8, besides the obvious 8-8 date.

I think he was innnn my hometown this week for some reason. (I didn't care though)

I just can't get over the idea that he'll probably say something like "Pokeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyymon" when ever he says the name...

The first time I saw it reported on a Pokemon site, I thought it was some sort of joke. O-o; And then... I saw it on Pokemon.com...

... and I honestly cannot stop laughing. XD It's so RANDOM. I mean, what in the world does he have to do with Pokemon? I would honestly have been less surprised by Britney Spears making an appearance.
 
Or Machoke, going naked, painting his hair red and body grey, and wearing a black belt/speedo thing.

Wow! That's incredible. I dont really care for the Hulk but he's a pretty famous dude.
And I'm planning to go to the party, being that I live within 100 miles from the city.
