How are Creepypastas made?

I was just wondering the process of writing a creepypasta because I have an idea of making one centered around the how the NPCs would be like if they acted like they do in the games from the perspective of someone inside those games

And to elaborate, the NPCs behavior is being irresponsive to everything but the player; either just standing around motionless or walking endlessly in circles.

I'm of the opinion that you really can't do a straight creepypasta and make it good/memorable for a franchise with a fan community as large and old as Pokemon. NPC behavior, version differences, game resets, and the Cubone story in particular have all been done so many times by enough good authors that trying to carve out a niche that no one else has filled is very difficult, to say the least. While it's possible that you really are the best horror writer to try approaching one of the most easily mocked subjects, you'd be much better off trying to find another genera to approach it from while technically still falling into creepypasta. Humor is the most often used device since you probably aren't making the exact same jokes as someone else, but I maintain that humor is the most difficult genera to write well.

So, uh, if you want to make it very good I recommend finding someway to bring new material to a story-type that's been done to death. Or you could just make fun of a less-often-noticed but still ridiculous part of the universe. Or just not worry about whether or not you're being outclassed and write and publish whatever you want, although in that case I can't guarantee much in the way of reviews and interest.

As someone who's written one of the most popular and well-recieved modern lost episode pastas (WWF: Cancelled In Your House PPV), my main advice is this: writing pastas in overdone categories is fucking hard. "In Your House" worked because...

...there wasn't anything supernatural about it. Merely a covered-up in-ring fatality.

I guess my best advice would be to avoid the standard cliches - y'know, Pokemon dying instead of fainting, jealous Pokemon from old save files, that kinda stuff. And to be honest, if you're gonna do one about NPCs, try one that hasn't been tackled yet. I don't think I've ever seen a pasta detailing how the Gym Leaders in early games just stay in their gyms for eternity.
