It is now about five days until 2018 begins, and I know we are all going to celebrate the New Year in one way or another. So how are you going to see out 2017?

For me, I am in Melbourne, and Melbourne is currently UTC+11 (due to daylight savings), which means we will be one of the first to see in 2018, and I will be going to Docklands to see in 2018. Last year, the site moved to near Docklands Stadium due to a new development near where the celebrations were to see in 2016.

I tend to go gambling with my father on a yearly basis. Casinos tend to have pretty fun end year bashes, events, and what not.

Sitting in my room, glancing at the clock until it hits midnight and if my girlfriend is still awake I'll send her a message saying happy new year.

Sometimes I miss having cable so I can watch the new year celebration in NYC like I did as a kid but meh. It's just watching people stand around in the cold as an orb descends on a track attached to the top of a building. And then the confetti litter everywhere afterwards. Yeh.

I saw it out with family as we do almost every year. In my aunt's home (father's sister), with my parents, paternal grandmother, said aunt, my uncle (her husband) and my cousin.

I spent it with my family in my fathers hometown. Usually we invite my aunt and uncle or even the neighbours (close family friends), but this year it was just me, my parents and my sister. Our dog is really scared of the fireworks, though, so we always have to find ways to calm her down. Doesn't work too well, so New Years is usually pretty stressful, but I do like the food and candy we usually eat before they start sending up fireworks.

I spent it at my cousin's place with my mom, brother, aunt, uncle and another cousin. Oh and also with my cute niece for whom I had bought some chocolates. I missed my father a lot, but other than that everything was alright during our new year celebration.

I ended up sleeping through the final hours of 2017 and the first hours of 2018 due to my flu symptoms. First time of actually not staying up until midnight for New Years.
