How can pokemon improve their game?

For a long time now, I've been a big fan of Pokemon. Every time a new main series game comes out; I rush out and buy it, and if I need a new system, you can bet I get myself an early Christmas gift with my hard earned minimum wage check. (or pester someone to loan me the money ;P) However, I always get half way through the game and start to pick it apart internally. I mainly ask myself the same thing, "Why am I buying the same game?" Pokemon, at least in Red - Gold and to a lesser extent, Sapphire, was always a great game and they always riveted me until I realized, this is the same damn plot; I'm a new trainer, and I'm somehow gifted with a pokemon that's tied to one of the professors. I go to meet them and they appoint me a pokedex trying to fill it but, I am encountered with a team who has no good intentions. I stop them, beat the league and tadaa, I still haven't set out to accomplish my goal. Fill the damn pokedex. There are over 500+ pokemon now, and while I'm not screaming at Gamefreak to stop making pokemon, can't help but ask them to take a step back and reflect. Look at what you've done Game Freak! You keep introducing new features, but you don't improve upon them and lets be honest, there has been some major changes that have happened over the years... but time and again, you keep dropping them.

Before all that though, let's talk about Dexter. Why do I care about the professor and their over 500+ catalog? In five, going on six generations, you'd think the professors of the world would have cataloged most of the general information into the damn pokedex. No longer do I believe the Professor should issue the pokedex as 'this thing that you need to fill up' but more as a function which catalogs the strengths and weakness' of a pokemon as you inflict different kinds of attacks on them. The pokedex should be a reference. Too often do I find myself at Serebii -cough- I mean, Bulbapedia, rooting for the proper type chart because of some weird type combination that negates this but improves that and trust me, it's nowhere in the game. ENOUGH. Dexter helped Ash in a similar way to my proposal during the show. IT WAS USEFUL. It wasn't a plot device; thats what the various pokemon are for. By now, if we're still playing pokemon. We don't need a useless chunk of metal to get us to adventure, we've bought the game assuming that we'd be having a grand time in the wilderness catching all sorts of creatures. The Dexter Feature doesn't have to be too complex a device, merely the tap of the L or R buttons could activate it, showing Level, Health, Currently known moves(and their PP), and Strengths and Weakness' that the player has discovered. Seriously guys, seriously. It's not a difficult mechanic and no ones going to think you're cliche. It's a good system, use it.

Pokemon Moves are up next on my shit list. Pokemon traditionally limits you to about four moves per pokemon. This seems too few to me. I often have to delete a superior move in order to accommodate for HM's which are just irritating to delete. As to why they made them un-delete-able by means other than Move Deleter, I will never understand. It doesn't add strategy, it just adds FUUUUUU--- moments in the game. I submit to you, Game Freak, too options. Either increase the amount of move slots to somewhere around... Lets say eight or ten, and call it good or more innovatively, create a move level up system in which you may learn all your moves, but each move has an EXP counter based on how many times it's used against what enemies. Or something of the combination. I do want to point out, that I should applaud you for the Oath's move set, which is a very good step in a very interesting direction, Move Combination. I think it would be an interesting, although unlikely system in which you could have the option to fuse two moves together to create a new one. For instance, you could fuse Pikachu's Quick attack with Spark to make Wild Charge or Volt Tackle and that would be the only way for Pikachu to obtain the move. This would be a great way to increase replay value beyond catching all the pokemon.

Stop Making New Evil Teams. You have what? Four? Cut that out. Play with the toys you have. AND MAKE IT INTERESTING!!! You know in all five generations, not once have you deviated from the Evil Scheme of World Domination theme. You held the damn carrot over my mouth in Black when N was revealed to be the Leader of Plasma and that he was actually a GOOD GUY. Then you pulled the carrot away, strapped a saddle on me and rode me like a horse when Ghetsis made it apparent that he was corrupt bastard and N just let it happen like a pansy.

I can't think of anymore, at the moment; So I'm handing the topic over to you, forum. I'm sure that during the discussion that will ensue, I will remember more of my complaints suggestions for improvement.
