How do you think pokemon dies?
Do you think they are dying in other ways?
Please write it here and let us see!

They more than likely die like everything else... though we've never yet seen one die...

Especially because they said "Where the pokemon of trainers are buried..." or some such, implying that the body is still physically there after death.

Aside from Ghost Pokemon, which I(And I'm sure everyone else as well.) am really unsure about, I'm assuming that Pokemon die like humans do, albeit some might have longer/shorter lifespans, or some, like certain legendaries, don't die at all.(Or at least, not very easily. That's a different subject for a different thread, however.)

As others have mentioned before me, the Pokemon Tower(Not to mention the Steelix gravesite in FRLG.) is pretty substantial proof, considering that it's full of graves, which typically carry some kind of remains. Not to mention that there are some lines in the game that imply this as well. (I'd pull up some direct quotes, but alas, I'm a lazy ho.)
So yeah. With that, I honestly can't see it any other way, 'cause the other options just sound... stupid. :/

Now, Ghost Pokemon... they may be a completely different thing altogether.

It's pretty debatable if they can even die or not in the first place, which stems from the fact that we don't know whether they're actual dead entities or if they're simply just Pokemon with ghost-like qualities.
I personally am leaning towards the latter, but I really have nothing substantial to back that up. (Though I could bring up Pokeblocks and breeding as 'evidence', that can easily be thrown back in my face with a simple 'It's merely for the sake of game mechanics.' argument. For all I know, that could actually be the case.)
Now, this should probably be taken with a grain of salt, but my guess about Ghost Pokemon is that they have long lifespans and tend not to show their age, but considering that they do seem to be Pokemon above all, they do die. How exactly, I'm not sure, but I'm guessing they do. Probably in a fairly normal manner, I suppose. :/

Buuuut... I'm rambling, and I think that's an entirely different can of worms I'm opening there, so I'll stop now. |D;;

What if ghost Pokemon are what Pokemon turn into after they die?

Just speculation.

Marowak's ghost in RBY answers that issue: If they become ghosts then they are just the imprints of the soul, not Gastly or whatever.

Well, Pokemon can die; Latios died, Pikachu died, and Ash's Charmander almost died.

They probably die from natural causes. Also, they probably just turn into a ghost like version of which ever Pokemon they are; Pikachu proves that, remember "The Tower of Terror?"

As, for ghost Pokemon that's definently a different story.

Legendary Pokemon die in a different way such as Ho-oh whose design was based on a phoniex who in time of death catch fire and become ashes and from that, are reborn

Thats the same with Moltres, who is reborn after completing a cycle of the earth.

i wonder how Lugia dies?????

by the way,Power to Lugia, one of the best made Pokemone ever!

I doubt that Ghost Pokémon are actually ghosts, but rather, simply named that way for their nature.

'They vanish in middle air.'

Thats ridicules, everyone knows only the Jedi Pokemon can do that.
(that makes sense if you like Star Wars)

As far as ghost pokémon go, I'm not sure how they look or whatever when they die, but I think they do. I think in the Pokémon world, a 'ghost' is a type of pokémon, whereas a 'spirit' is what's there when a pokémon dies. Now they probably say 'ghosts' in the tower, I don't remember and I don't feel like checking, but if they do, I ammount that to lack of understanding by the people who wrote it of the difference between the two words in the pokémon world. And yes, I know they invented it, shut up. =P

As for other pokémon, they die like everything else, as proven by the points already made here. Lol, tear apart in light... How would Cubone get the skull off its dead mother then?

Some Pokemon when they die ooze black blood!!...I dunno :p *goes back to painting her nails*

Pokémon die. In the movie Pokemon 4ever, at a certain point, Ash shouts:

''...And now Celebi is going to die!''

And there are graves, such as Mt.Pyre. So they probably dont dissapear.

And I think they go to sleep.

I guess it determines what they Pokémon are made of, honestly.

I mean, I can imagine a Pokémon such as Vaporeon which is capable of vaporising will actually do so when it dies, for example.

Celebi, as judged from the fourth movie, will do as a leaf when it dies (which I here in the evening have forgotten what is called in English. Shame on me). Uhm, dry out?

Rock Pokémon like Geodude and Onix could probably be the basics of mountains, boulders and such. As in, the rock areas are actualy the corpses of dead Rock Pokémon =P

That brings me back to the mentioning of Vaporeon. Haha, the humans in the Pokémon world drink dead Vaporeon XD

Though seriously, the way they die determines on what causes the death. End of story.

When Pokemon die they turn into Ghost Pokemon, when Ghost Pokemon die they turn into regular Pokemon.

Seriously though, they die like any other animal would. Their organs stop functioning and leave a rotten corpse, assuming they have bodies. Pokemon like Ghastly, made of Gas, may just disapear, while Muk turn into a puddle of sludge, or even purified water.....

Speaking of which, imagine a ghost Pokemon dying a traumatic death, and it leaves it's spirit behind in the world of the living. Do you think it will actually notice it is dead? After all, it probably had similar characteristics as a real "ghost" Pokemon as it did a living Ghost Type Pokemon.
