Hi!

I'd love to take screenshots of my favorite Pokemon episodes but I don't know exactly how this works.

I usually watch Pokemon episodes with the Windows Media Player but is it possible at all to take screenshot with it or do I need another program?

Thanks in advance!:yahoo:

Not sure if this works for media player, but go to fullscreen while playing the video and pause it to where you want to take the screenshot and press "prtScrn" button. Next go to MSPaint and paste it there, then you can save it, but I'd recommend saving in PNG or you'll lose quality if you save in MSPain in JPG.

Use the PrntScrn button ._.

On youtube you can use Print Screen.

Otherwise, you're going to have to use VLC Player, BSPlayer or any of the other players out there that support screens. I'm pretty sure there's Media Player plugins/mods too that can allow caps to be taken.

Apparently the force isn't strong with this one. You can't Print Screen on Media Player, all you'll see is the player frame and nothing in it.

It is possible to get printscreen to work with WMP:

•Open Window Media Player
•Then go to Tools | Options
•In Options, select the Performance Tab
•Way below you click on the Advanced Button
•Uncheck “Use Overlays’
•Click Ok

That's it, then you can cap all you want :)

Just use print screen depending on which model on windows media player you got. If it's the older version it will come out black. I think VLC will work for screencaping and it's free.

Getting screencaps from YouTube is a bad idea. Low quality video creates low quality images.

What if you download a Flash video.
This type of video doesn't play on Windows Media Player but it does on "Realplayer" Version 11.0.3

How do I get a screenshot from a Flash video on real player that I have already downloaded.
(That means when I'm offline and playing the Flash video on Realplayer.)
Please explain nicely, I am ultra-nooby.

BTW how does this Print SCreen request work. I'm pressing that button on my keyboard like crazy while a video on Youtube is playing but nothing happens.!

Umm... use VLC Player. If I remember correctly, it does .flv video, and is great for screenshots.

As a little bit of inside knowledge, what WMP actually does is effectively "purplescreen" the picture into the window (rather than directly displaying it directly).
