How do I Use Italics/Bold etc.?

Pretty much in the title but how do I change the text to show up in Italic or the other options? Thanks if you answer.

When you post do you see the letters "B" "I" and "U" above where you type? click on them. B is Bold, I is Italics, and U is Underline.

Nope, it's all completely blank there.

you can also hit ctrl-I, ctrl-B and ctrl-U as well

Tried it, doesn't seem to work. If it makes a difference, I'm on a laptop.

OK, here's what you do:

For Bold~~~ [*b]BOLD[*/b] to get this BOLD

For Italics~~~ [*i]ITALICS[*/i] to get this ITALICS

For Underline~~~ [*u]UNDERLINE[*/u] to get this UNDERLINE

(PS: You have to take the asteriks out them though!)
