Since there's a 99.9% chance she will leave when BW ends, Iris will have officially been in the least amount of episodes of all the main girls. How do you feel that Iris will be known for being the shortest lived female lead of the show?

I'm perfectly fine with that. They haven't really used the time they've had to develop Iris as effectively as they could have in my opinion, so being the shortest lived female lead of the show doesn't bother me.

Given that she didn't get significantly less development than any other one- or two-season traveling companion, I don't see a problem here.

I'm glad she's leaving the show, never liked her. The absence of Pokémon Contests cursed the girl. She did little to nothing in the series, and her few achievements seem forced and undeserved, so her being the shortest lived female protagonist doesn't bother me one bit. Here's hoping for a better female lead in the next series.

In Iris' defense, had her game counterparts not been so high in ranking, Iris the anime character could have been done right. Since there is a part of me that likes Iris' spunk, I will gladly say I will miss that.

I'm not bothered by her short time. To be quite honest, since the writers did way too much with her character in terms of achievement and sudden strength, it's not as if she did nothing. But will I be happy to see her go? Let's just say I will be happy to see Best Wishes go, it ruined the excitement factor of the show for me.

When the book closes on Best Wishes, Iris will still be known as the first main girl of color on the cast, which is a huge deal regardless if she is believed to be Black, Native American, Hispanic. Given that characters of color are rarely seen in anime, especially this one, I'd say Iris and her design is very unique and I will miss seeing that. It is a first for the show and no one can take that away from the character itself so it's not like she didn't break any barriers fairly.

Indifferent, since it was necessary.
Someone has to replace Drayden and later Alder (and Benga's out of the question for the former)

I say thank goodness, Iris is my least favorite of the girl cast. It all started when she first called Ash a kid when she herself is more of a kid than Ash is, BW2 didn't help when she got that Dragonite and started over using it, she also left poor Axew behind acting like its not really hersXD Ontop of that, she never learns a lesson. So I say good-bye Iris, will not be missing you.

Re: How do you feel that Iris will be the shortest lived female protagonist of the sh

well i really gonna miss "your such a kid" every episode.....

she was just shockingly underveloped early potential ruined, even being gifted a dragonite to speed up her goals couldent save her, i wont be upset to not see her again but i have to say the writers were so lazy with her its criminal.

iris rivals dawn to be my least liked female on the show but dawn edges it for me found her so boring she had more time in the episodes than iris and had a better written saga but i still dident like her.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

And that's not bashing, that's just the cold, harsh truth.

The thing is, there were times I liked her. But not only did that thing about calling Ash a little kid get OLD (you're not much older yourself, honey), but a trainer who gets freebies handed to her on a golden platter by Arceus himself isn't getting any respect from me at all (And before anyone says anything, BW Ash is in the same boat). Her getting Dragonite pretty much ruined her.

So long, Iris! Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

Well, I won't lie; I am perfectly okay with that, after how she was written. But I can't say I don't look forward to her inevitable guest star appearance next series, knowing that I'll probably like her more as a guest star than a main character, but I can't say I'll miss her character when she's (most likely) off the main cast.

Hopefully, the writers have learned from Iris so they won't treat the next girl the same way.

Meh...

Its not like she was a failed experiment (Tracey), a washed-up character (Brock/Misty), or an overrated one (Dawn)

She was good and one region should be enough, maybe one more but thats it...

Re: How do you feel that Iris will be the shortest lived female protagonist of the sh

I'm kinda mixed on her possible departure. I loved the character, hated her development....

Re: How do you feel that Iris will be the shortest lived female protagonist of the sh

The writers seemed rather lazy with her development (and characters in Best Wishes in general), so there seemed to be alot of compensating in her writing. So really, I'll be happy to see her gone, and the slate cleaned (as in Best Wishes just ends).

I hated her character (due to her calling ash a kid) at first and then I started to like her so much, I think that I will miss her. :'( I mean I like her now and I hate she is the shortest lived female. And I am serious for once instead of being sarcastic.

Re: How do you feel that Iris will be the shortest lived female protagonist of the sh

Good riddance. She annoys me anyway and doesnt really seem to contribute much.

Re: How do you feel that Iris will be the shortest lived female protagonist of the sh

She's the worst by far, so I've got no problem with it.

Re: How do you feel that Iris will be the shortest lived female protagonist of the sh

Eh, no big deal. Her time being short won't put a damper on my memories of her, and she made an impact with the time she did have.
