This is a topic I made out of spontaneous curiosity. Almost every Pokemon fan I meet pronounces "Pokemon" differently than I do, and because we're all typing to each other on the forums and not actually speaking to each other I don't know how you guys pronounce it.

Me, I pronounce it PO-KEE-MON.

I don't know. In the first season of the show, the characters pronounced it poe-kay-mon (or poe-keh-mon. I can't tell the difference). I haven't watched the series in a while but I think they're more lenient with the pronunciation.

Depends on the situation.

Po-kay-mon when I'm being serious, Po-kee-mon when I'm not being serious and "Po-kee-mans" when I'm being completely silly.

I'm pretty sure that I pronounce it the same way Ash and everyone does in the anime. ^^

Although, actually, I think I've been saying "Po-kee-mon".

But you know what, I've realized something about the "Po-kay-mon" pronunciation. When it's said like "Po-kay-mon", and if you say it really fast, it sounds just like like the "Po-kee-mon" pronunciation.

So now, I'm really not sure which way I've been saying it. ^^;

I say it three ways
Pogeyman like Poh gee man
Pokuhmon
and my new favorite,
Pah ke mohn
I got it from the Who's that Pokemon in the Japanese. It sounded like they said "Who's that Pahkemohn
Pakemon ftw!

Sometimes "Pok-EE-mon" and ocasionaly "Poke-ay-mon"

Honestly, I was devistated when I, a fan since GSC, learned I had been pronoucing it wrong.

I know SO many (Non-pokemon fan) adults that pronouce it "Pokeyman" or even "Pockeyman"

Yeah, I know a lot of adults that say "Pokeymans"...really pisses me off, but I keep quiet about it.

Poh-kei-mon or Poh-kay-mon

Ooh good topic!

I say Poh-kee-mon when I'm speaking in general, because that's how pretty much everyone else pronounces it around here.

When I'm being fairly serious and talking to other fans, I try to say Poh-kay-mon, since that's more correct.

...I don't live in Japan, do I?

Therefore, the way Pokémon is said can be different in different countries.

Oh, I know it's pronounced POH-kay-mon, but I pronouce it "Pokieman" and even use the plural "Pokemons [Pokiemans]."

This is strange considering my ethnicity, but I like pronouncing it this way better.
