So as we all know Ash will more likely than beat Paul in the league. So this brings the question up...how do you think Ash will beat him. Will Ash out strategize Paul or will he beat with brute force.

What do you guys think?

He will beat him with Infernape's extra power and the return of a stronger Gliscor.

His Pokemon are all much stronger now than they were in that 2-parter where he lost. He now has Torterra and Infernape, and we should see Gliscor make its epic return for the match.

I hope Gliscor takes out one or two of Paul's Pokemon, meanwhile Staraptor can take the fall as it already beat Paul in the Pokeringer.

I'm HOPING for a one on one: Infernape vs. Electabuzz/Electivire. Blaze would probably be activated, I feel that Ash would use a bit more strategy than last time, showing that he can outsmart Paul.

It would feel like a hallow victory if he won out of brute strength alone, not to mention how bland the battle may be (ok, actually, that's not true, it would take a lot to mess this battle up XD)

If we're lucky, Pikachu won't be used as his last pokemon just...no.

I'd like to see this fight being where Gible masters Draco Meteor while fighting Magmortar. Have Ursaring lose to Infernape ( or Pikachu for Epic redemption). Gliscor comes back and beats down Honchkrow. Torterra V Torterra and then Whoever didn't fight Ursaring fights Electibuzz. Have Buizel fight Weavile as the opening fight.

I think that Ash’s line-up will be his current one (Gible instead of Gliscor). I wish Gliscor would make a comeback because its first battle was really a bad one (Paul’s Gliscor mopped the floor with it while it was still a Gligar). If it did comeback it would be cool to see it go head to head it the leader of the group that it was a part of. Torterra vs. Torterra would be interesting because Paul’s taught Ash’s how to make use of its new form (using its size, defense, body to its advantage) it would be like a master vs student kind of thing. Though Torterra may finally get its revenge on the powerful Honchcrow (or it may go up against Staraptor in a real battle instead of that lousy Pokeringer match), Pikachu vs Electabuzz (or quite possibly Electavire) I mean the two have become friends but it would be good to see a rematch between the two they haven’t fought since DP episode 3 and even then it was a draw. I don’t know if the anime neglects the motor drive ability on Electavire, if it does not then Pikachu could only use Iron Tail/Quick Attack if Electabuzz will have evolved before the match. So, this will be a pretty interesting battle if the two get to go up against each other. Buizel will probably fight Weavile to make use of its “Ice Aqua Jet” though if it does I think Paul would counter it because he saw Ash use it at the Wallace Cup against Kyle (it would probably be one of those moments when Ash gets cocky like he did with the Counter Shield and Paul was surprised and had no way to counter it, but this time Paul would have a way of defeating it). Gible may fit in here somewhere mastering its Draco Meteor or evolving because Paul may call it something bad and it will prove him wrong (just a possibility though he may have learned that Ash can make a way out of no way at this point in this series). Infernape is probably going to be Ash’s last one able to battle. It will definitely win the match for Ash. Or it could be Pikachu because it is Ash’s starter, make Pikachu look really good because it will win in one of the most important battles of Ash’s life, or because Paul took an interest in it. Though Infernape is the link between Ash and Paul’s training styles so I think it will win. I think that it may use its Blaze and control it (though it is possible at Sunnyshore that it will master its Blaze) and win the battle. These are just my thoughts, and I think that Ash is finally going to use his head instead of his cocky anger. His other battles were just to prove Paul wrong and that lead to him getting defeated, but this time I think things will be different. If anything I think that Paul will be the one that will battle differently. Ash will win, Paul will see the error his ways and it will be a terrible end to one of the greatest rivals Ash has ever had…

Ash will have to use some unexpected strategy. He'll probably beat Paul's Torterra with Buizel, using Ice Punch, for one. Ash's Torterra will beat Honchkrow, making use of Leaf Storm and Rock Climb. Gible (Gabite?) might beat Weavile with its Rock Smash. Infernape will probably beat Magmortar, since only it can avoid getting burned by Flame Body. Other than that, it's really hard to tell.

I think both Ash and Paul will change one member in their team from their last full battle, so it'll be Pikachu, Buizel, Infernape, Torterra, Staraptor and Gible v Torterra, Magmortar, Electabuzz(or Elevtivire), Honchcrow, Weavile/Ursaring and a as of now unidentified new pokémon (I'm really pulling for a Feraligatr)

Gible doesn't defeat anybody
Buizel/Staraptor defeats Ursaring (I think Weavile's gone TBH)
Torterra defeats Honchcrow
Pikachu defeats Magmortar
Staraptor/Buizel defeats Torterra
Infernape defeats Electabuzz and Feraligatr

With Infernape and the Power of Lame Plot Friendship.

IMO Infernape will suddenly learn one of the three: Overheat/Flare Blitz/Blast Burn.

With Infernape.

I don't really give a shit about anyone else or all the whining, bitching, pissing, moaning, and the eventual ban that'll happen afterwords here.

Paul's Pokemon:
-Torterra
-Magmortar
-Electabuzz
-Ursaring
-Honchkrow
-Nidoking/Hariyama/Gliscor

Ash's Pokemon:
-Pikachu
-Torterra
-Infernape
-Buizel
-Staraptor
-Gible/Gliscor

It'll be a close fight, but Ash would probably have Pikachu as his last Pokemon. Paul's Electabuzz would probably evolve into Electivire during the battle (and be Paul's last Pokemon), then Electivire would be defeated by Pikachu.

After seeing this whole saga and all of Ash's battles with Paul, I'm convinced it will happen these ways:

With Infernape.

I think that Satoshi will use a blend of power and tactics to beat Shinji.

Also, I doubt that we will see Manyula. It isn't a counter for Mukuhawk while it knows Close Combat. For their full battle Shinji built his team knowing what the members of Satoshi's would be, so like others I predict a new Pokémon for him to use.

no matter how it goes, infernape will get the last say, and i really wouldn't have it any other way.

Definately Infernape giving the final blow. It's got too much history with Paul for the writers not to have it be the hero of the match.

He will beat him with Infernape's extra power and the return of a stronger Gliscor.

His Pokemon are all much stronger now than they were in that 2-parter where he lost. He now has Torterra and Infernape, and we should see Gliscor make its epic return for the match.

Look, he's not going to be using Gliscor against Paul for the same reason he won't be using any of his reserves: because it's been trained by someone else. That would prove Paul right, and then Ash's victory would be a hollow one.
And before you mention Buizel, Dawn never trained it for battles. It doesn't count.

That's not to say he won't be using Gliscor in other League battles. Just not against Paul.

lol, I love how the bias people have for particular Pokemon leave them convinced that it will return. Gliscor's gone, like several of Ash's Pokemon that've been left to train with others. I see no reason why he would come back.

Infernape will help Ash beat Paul, and hopefully Gible will fully evolve between now and the Ash vs. Paul league episodes (maybe evolving to Garchomp during their battle).

Are you being serious?

Gliscor was in the full Ash Vs. Paul 6 on 6 battle they had after Snowpoint. Gliscor has history with Paul, especially since Paul also had a Gliscor in the older DP eps and they had a rivalry. Newly caught Gible has nothing to do with Paul.

And you act like a Pokemon being sent somewhere never returned. Both Charizard and Squirtle were sent to "train" and Ash used them several times afterward.

Gliscor is no different than Charizard.

Gliscor is no different than Charizard.

Which is exactly the point. It was trained by someone else, it has no buisness being in the Paul match.

Did Buizel have any histroy with Paul before the 6-on-6 match? Nope. Gible isn't any different than Buizel was in this case.

...

Anyways, it would be a delight to see the activation of Overgrow by one of the Torterra, during the battle.
