How do you think Kanai Mika's doing as Eureka?

Ise Mariya went on maternity leave in the Chigoras episode that aired back in September and so the voice of Eureka's been given to Kanai Mika in the meantime. We don't know when exactly Ms. Ise will be coming back but she's performing the current ending theme and I think it's probably safe to assume that she'll be coming back any episode now.

In the meantime, though, how do you think Kanai Mika's been doing as a replacement? I personally never thought she was ever bad but in her first few episodes but I did feel like she didn't give the character enough energy. Like, she would give 85, maybe 90% when Ise Mariya would have given it 110. But Ms. Kanai quickly stepped up her game and now I don't even notice that the voice is any different. It's certainly leaps and bounds better than the replacement voice Musashi got back in Advanced Generation, that's for sure.

But what about everyone else? Do you think she's doing a good enough job? Do you notice anymore? Or are you counting the days when Ise Mariya comes back and reclaims the role?

The voices are indistinguishable as far as I'm concerned. I think that Mika deserves to stick around until the end of the Zygarde arc at the very least.

She's been improving a lot lately. I complained on her first episodes and still think she was pretty bland, but now, like you said, I can't even tell the difference between both.

And I still gotta watch those AG episodes where Musashi's given a new VA...

Kanai is not a bad actress by any means, but I feel like she doesn't portray Bonnie too well. Bonnie is supposed to be hyperactive, with plenty of energy and emotion to spare. Ise is able to bring the passion out for the character. Conversely, Kanai's portrayal is too mellow and subdued. This can be evident during scenes in which Bonnie is supposed to be excited (such as XY091 when Bonnie found out about Ash's Frogadier's future power; even though Bonnie said she was excited, Kanai's performance indicated otherwise)

Of course, that's not to say Kanai is a bad substitute, but in my opinion her portrayal cannot measure up to Ise's.

She's doing great. The change was noticeable at first, but now it sounds natural to me, I even forgot it wasn't Bonnie's actual voice.
