I think he'll stay true to his in-game persona and come off a bit like Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory. Though, I would expect his backstory might be toned down, resulting in his more creepier tendencies to be toned down as well.
You're right, actually. But what Paul did (overworking his team, admittedly being downright cruel to Chimchar) isn't really as controversial as child abuse, even if a lot of N's abuse is neglect and emotional. Being cruel to Pokemon happens all the time in-show. Something like N's trauma hasn't really happened in the show. So I can see them glossing over and simplifying what happened to N, but you made me think that they might put more focus on it than I thought they would.I think he'll stay true to his in-game persona and come off a bit like Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory. How so? I mean, Paul wasn't exactly nice even to his Pokemon. Chimchar being Exhibit A. Not even the dub tried to water him down. Hell, back in Mewtwo Strikes Back, Mewtwo was a pretty ambiguous villain in the JPN version. I wish that they'd look at Paul and Mewtwo as example on how to write a complex character like N.
On seconds thoughts, I change my mind. Summing up his dark background and complex personality, he's way too 'gifted' a character to be in the TV series. If he ever should appear, then at the very least, they should save him for a Movie. I don't want N's story be cut in several episodes and stretched over for weeks - it's not going to have much impact, and he's going to have to share the spotlight with Ash, which is going to result in a clash of seriousness and kiddiness.
However, if N were to appear in a MOVIE, then N could get all the spotlight he wants. Many of the pokemon movies had Ash play a minor role, and instead presented other movie-only characters - which many had appealed wonderfully with their own stories and characteristics. Likewise, N's backstory would be much better developed in a whole 90 minutes and his character would be much better portrayed.
Thus, my opinion is that N should stay away from the TV series. A movie would bring the best out of him.
I don't know how they could change him because that would be kinda impossible, but if he ever does get shown, he won't be shown enough. And that would be a problem because N should get plenty of screen time since he is kind of a deep character.Even though I personally don't care for him.
How's he going to get a hold of one of the dragons? We've already had the two dragons from the legend of the twin Heroes... Are they going to do something crappy like say 'They had two Original Dragons...'? I hope not. And what, are they going to introduce a new character to get the other dragon? They kinda have that 'Ash shalt not useth Pokemon born of Legend' thing in place and all...

True... However, that gets rid of the whole ''resolving the Heroes' conflict'' angle... That was a relatively large part of N's motivation... Just wanted to point it out...

Which is why I suggest N being in the movie would be much better than the TV series![]()
