How do you think Serena's Yancham will evolve?

There are two ways it could happen. Either Serena trades Yancham to Satoshi and it ends up evolving into Goronda due to Satoshi's Keromatsu having evolved into Gekogashira and then Gekkouga at that point and of course it is part dark type. Then there is the possibility that Yancham just evolves from simply being near Gekkouga. I don't know how the anime wants to handle the evolution requirement for Yancham.

They'll handle it by not evolving it. Small and cute Pokemon don't get evolutions, especially not one that is going to need to charm audiences by putting on performances. Big angry bears don't achieve that.

If they did - the best way imo to handle it would be if Scraggy returned one day and greeted Pancham by using Headbutt on it - followed by it suddenly evolving.

No trades, please. Serena caught a pokemon that was purposely characterised to go with her goal of pokemon performing. I see no reason why it would end up with Ash when performing is what it clearly enjoys.

You also haven't acknowledged the possibility that Serena will get a dark type pokemon of her own later down the line. Or that the anime might choose to ignore the game mechanics of Pancham's evolution altogether. Like Moe, however, I wouldn't be surprised if this was all a moot point and Pancham remains unevolved.

Pangoro is my fave gen 6 pkmn so I hope it will evolve. I wish it went to Ash instead so it'd have a better chance and probably more screentime and battles, but whatever that's lost already. Still glad there's a Pancham in the main cast at all and I think that maybe it has a chance to be Serena's version of Ash's Charizard / Dawn's Mamoswine.

If a trade did happen, why wouldn't Pancham go back to Serena after evolving? Makes much more sense then it just staying with Ash. That said, I don't think it will happen when there are simpler options. Here's how I see it from most likely to least likely:

1. Pancham does not evolve/The anime ignores the game rules
2. Serena obtains a Dark-type Pokemon
3. Serena trades Ash her Pancham so it can evolve, then it goes back to her

Personally, I don't see why it wouldn't evolve. The anime team seems to love giving the female leads a big Pokemon that's tough for them to handle. (e.g. Gyarados, Mamoswine, Dragonite). Not to mention that Pangoro is such a cool Pokemon.

I'm hoping Serena catches an Absol to reflect her in-game team. Gen VI promotion, Gen III promotion, and Pancham evolution, all in one capture.

I agree with Moe. I don't think they will evolve Pancham. It's cuteness and appeal are just too perfect for the role it was given to play. If it evolved, it would be too "ugly" to perform (just like how Dawn's Piplup didn't either).

Either one of the three

1. Serena gets a Dark-type later on
2. Ash's Froakie evolves into Greninja, and the anime slightly changes the method from "a dark-type in within the team" to "a dark-type within the group"
3. It doesn't evolve

Also, Dawn's Mamoswine performed in contests perfectly well despite the huge size and less-than-cute appearance. Just because it's cute doesn't guarantee it won't evolve

It was used for Contest battles; the Showcases are devoid of battling. Plus, Mamoswine had the advantage of using Ice-type moves, which are considered beautiful. Fighting and Dark-type moves? Not so much.

Yes, but you have to consider that in this case both the trainer and their Pokémon partake in the Performance, not Pangoro alone. IF Pancham ever evolved into Pangoro, they could make use of Pangoro's larger size and have him and Serena do cool acrobatic stuff. It would be similar to dance lifts in figure skating. Pangoro could lift Serena in the air and combined with a pretty Dark Pulse it could look appealing.

Pangoro itself is capable of doing so much more than Mamoswine as it's bipedal.

Didn't Mamoswine participate in round 1 individual appeals? I can't really remember, but I do remember an episode where Dawn had Mamoswine use Ice attacks for glittery backgrounds or something.

Also, Pancham did breakdancing - he's more an active pokemon who likes to show off with his body movements. Being a Fighting-type clearly has its advantages since he'd be using his body. Also, performing isn't about beauty; it's about showing talent.

Besides, who says Dark-type moves can't be beautiful?

Wouldn't surprise me if Pancham doesn't evolve. They gotta sell plushies!

I can easily see Pancham being the next Mamoswine, just as others have said. And about the plushies, thats why we have Dedenne, Pikachu and maybe Fennekin/Chespin/Bunnelby. Although that seems a little to few for great marketing...

It will not evolve, And i would not be surprised if there is the rehashed "i don't wanna evolve" (piplup, pikachu and ash's bulbasaur had this) episode involving serena's pokemon.

Most likely not, Pangoro is too brutish for a trainer like Serena to train. Plus the pokevision thing doesn't require battling between rivals so a power boost from evolving would be redundant.

I'm going with everyone else and saying that Serena's Pancham will not likely evolve, primarily because it's what I like to call a "cutesy-appeal" Pokemon that only stays in it's first form permanently to sell more plush toys and stuff. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Fennekin doesn't evolve either for the same reason. The anime has had an obsession with "cute Pokemon for the longest time, and it's unlikely going to change any time soon.
