How do you think the writers will debut Phione in the anime?

Considering I very much doubt this thing will ever be in a movie, how do you think the writers will handle it? Will they bring up its relation to a Manaphy, and thus give that also an episode debut?

I kind of don't think the writers will treat it like any throw-away random water pokemon, yet at the same time its just a poor man's Manaphy so there's no point making a big deal out of it.

What do you think they'll do with this pokemon?
 
Phione will probably come up in a discussion with Rowan and Ash about Pokemon legends or something, like when Dialga, Palkia, and the Lake Trio were mentioned in A Secret Sphere of Influence!
 
Who knows, really. Phione is a legendary, so no doubt it'll receive some degree of special treatment. At least a double episode or mini-arc dedicated to it. I could see them doing a special based on it though. Maybe with a Haruka reappearance? Though it'd have to come in later. I'd like to see it in a movie, but they've already got more than enough to handle in the movies and the Faeries already fill up the cute quotient.
 
The fairies just count as the trio, even though they are cute. The official "cute legendary" Pokemon is Manaphy, second is probably Shaymin. If you can get more than one of a the same legendary Pokemon in-game without cheating or glitches, then I don't consider it a legendary.

They could give it a movie, but it's not that important enough to warrent a movie. I think that they will have an episode for it, have Dawn take care of it, and maybe reference the 9th movie (Not May of course, because she's an AGRSE).

They retracted that comment by posting that it is a legendary. It was in the mailbag post I read last week.

Phione was already a card in the TCG, so either it will be handled like any other Pokemon, or it will have a special purpose much later into Diamond and Pearl (like with Cresselia).
 
Personally I'd love to see May back for a future Phione story. Maybe something in her "People of The Water"-ness causes Phione to evolve. Bingo, mystery solved.
 
They'll probably treat it in much the same way that most pokémon in filler episodes get treated (yes, this even applies to event legendaries, like "The Green Gaurdian" or the Deoxys arc.)

Actually, I would not be surprised at all if Pokémon Rangers do get involved in Phione's debut.

Um, I hope you're being sarcastic, because Phione doesn't evolve.

I hope the next generation wraps up this one without leaving more questions, regarding the birth of Phione, and clarify Mewtwo's existence whether original specie from humans or Arceus has something to do with this.

I'm hoping for another PKM Ranger type episode featuring the Sea Prince's son (or daughter, whichever makes the most sense). Not really sure where though, but near the 8th gym could be a good start.

The problem with this is that the franchise doesn't solve their own "mysteries". They just present them and then leave them as they are. Much to vexation of fans.

Honestly, the reason why Phione was included in the first place is to prevent people from breeding more Manaphy. Due to it's gimmick of being hatched from an egg, it needs to not be in the "no eggs" breeding group, otherwise it would be a programming paradox. Receiving a Manaphy egg is much like receiving any other Pokémon egg from an NPC.

There is no mystery involved either way. Phione's anime debut will be pretty non-eventful. Perhaps simply Ash and his friends encountering an entire school of them out in the ocean.
 
Pull a Raikou like special with it, either in Johto with May or give the guys from DP something to do. Not a movie, but not just an episode.

They don't live in the ocean, they're fresh water.

Just because it's in the no eggs group doesn't mean you can't have an egg of it. You can get a Mewtwo egg, you just have to cheat.

I think its Dawn's turn to mother some cute little legendary. If it doesn't happen in Movie 11...there aren't that many cute little legends left!
 
I think BROCK needs to mother a cute little legendary. He's been there for 10 out of 11 films, has been shown to be the dominant "mother" figure, and yet he's never gotten a chance to shine, so what better way to bring him to the forefront than by combining those two elements?

Agree!But obviously he wouldn't be selfish like May!:p I think the scene in the farewell part would be interesting!
