In the sinnoh league?

I think ash will make the top 4 before being eliminated once again by a rival he befriended just before the tournament

Nope he will win the league - beat the elite four (probably challanging one twice) and lose to Cynthia

I think he'll defeat paul somewhere along the line, but then he'll lose in the finals...probably to nando.

granted the E4 foreshadowing has to lead somewhere, but idk...for some reason I cant see him winning the league.

Oh yeah i forgot all about Nando. He'll either win the Grand Festival or the league hmmmm nope im sticking with ash winning. Nando will take the GF

yea i guess ash could win it. my thinking that he won't win is just because i think ash loses some of his underdog appeal once he wins a major league...but maybe after all these years its finally time to have him win.

i just don't know....we'll have to see.

I think he's going to battle the elite 4 this time, instead of another Pokémon Leage tornament...espesally since they've been proporly introduced this time overall.

But I could very easly be wrong. lol

I hope he wins-->E4-->loses to Shirona. But at this stage, he ought to at least make the finals.

The plot depends on the show's fate, really.

If the show ends after Diamond & Pearl, Ash will win. If it does not, he will rank high, most likely. I am guessing Nando will not surpass Ash or Dawn, but that's just speculation. If they need more time before generation five, there very likely could be an Elite Four arc. Realistically Ash would lose to all of them, but if they make an arc out of it, Ash will probably beat some but not all of them, considering children don't want to see the protagonist get repeatedly beaten. However, he will lose to Cynthia if he challenges her, I can almost guarantee it. The only exception is if the show undergoes a planned cancellation, where I think Ash could win any battle.

Ash will finish second to Nando.

The elete four offer their challenge to Nando, who refuses, then Ash gets his chance. He will beat them all (although he loses to Lucian once but then beats him again). He will have a 6 vs 6 with Cynthia and lose.

My idea is that Ash will challenge the E4, but will lose. He will do it like in the games and use only six pokemon, not changing them for each E4 member as in games you can't do this, so why should it be different in Anime?

He will lose to Cynthia, but Buizel will put up a good fight with Flint as will Starraptor will be used to defeat Aaron and he will have a good chance with him. Not sure about Bertha and Lucian though. Maybe Pikachu will be one used for Lucian.

Really good points there, but I can't really see Ash winning and beating E4 unless he goes home and beats Kanto E4, his home league, which I am hoping before the end of the show, he does.

I'm only saying this once so please don't argue with me.

Ash losing to Nando is an insult to Ash. This would be Nando's first league, if Nando wins his first league because he's a prodigy at Contests and Battles then Ash has a snowball's chance in hell of ever becoming a Pokemon Master.

Ash beat Nando fairly easily in their first match, and Ash was at a disadvantage a grass type and an evolution. Nando suddenly winning would be the biggest insult to Ash ever, they may as well end the show right there.

Look we all know how skilled Nando is in contests, he could very well win the Grand Festival. Winning both the Grand Festival and the Sinnoh League to such a beginner trainer?

Seriously. Snowball's chance in hell.

I think it be best if Ash gets knock out right from the start, and is force to sit it out from the side lines.

He had better at least top 4 this time. May got the championship battle her second GF. That is not making Ash look good at all after top 8ing two tournaments in a row. (Then again, he won the Battle Frontier, which makes him winning here less likely) Still, if they value character improvement at all, at least top 4, or give us an AWFULLY good reason for not doing so well this time. Ash vs. Paul is mandatory. All signs point to him defeating him just to prove a point, but this battle will be one fore the history books. I am probably talking even more epic than the final Ash vs. Gary battle. If the writers even care to remember Nando, it will depend on how they want his story to end. He is a trainer caught between both worlds of battling and contests. Can you be the best at both? I don't think that's possible, it will be one or the other.

I could see him actually winning, but it really could go either way. Let's just hope he doesn't get the Top 8 again.

I'm honestly confused as to what happens after the region league, really. What exactly is the Championship League? Is it just challenging the Elite Four and Champion, ala the games? Or is it an actual torunament of league victors? How exactly are the Elite Four and Champion of each region chosen anyway? How does Cynthia having to occassionally defend her title of Champion fit in to all this? I'd love for Ash to make it all the way to battling Cynthia just so we could learn some answers, really. :p

I believe he will win:
- Beat Nando on the fifth round, which will remind him of how he lost on his first league and some emotional yadayadayada, which makes him more confident and determinated then ever.
- For [whatever reason], probably Team Rocket or Galatic if they want to spice up the plot, Ash will nearly not get in time for his battle with Jun and with all his Pokémon exausted, but Brock, Dawn, Misty, May and Gary/Tracey will lend him their Sudowoodo (or Croagunk), Mamoswine, Gyarados, Blaziken and Umbreon/Scizor. Last, but not least Max, who arrives in the last minute, borrows him his Gardevoir. Ash battles with his friends' Pokémon and wins, more emotional yadayadayda ("You have been here for me all the way", "we've been through so much" and all that).
- He then beats Paul, maybe for the finals. When defeated Paul says only "Maybe...", as he walks away.
- Ash wins the league.

- Ash learns that only those who have beaten the league earn the right to officially challenge the Elite Four and it's Champion and so earn the title of Pokémon Champion. He challenges them, winning the battles with the four.
- He then challenges Cynthia. In a 6x6 battle Cynthia, after "been put in a corner she can't remember the last time she was at", defeats him.
- Bertha steps down as a E4 and offers Ash her position. He replies that "Until I can be a Pokémon Champion, I'll not settle for anything else!".
- Jun tells Ash that he found out that Paul was going to [Jotho?] to challenge a place called the Battle Frontier, and that he is going to do so as well. Ash decides that it is the perfect way to train and goes too.

Meanwhile:
- May wins the Jotho GF.
- Dawn loses at the Sinnoh GF.
- Dawn decides to head to Jotho to challenge that region's contests.

Then... [Insert Filler Season Here]

While I have never been disappointed that Ash never won the previous leagues (Indigo, Johto, and Hoenn). I would be a little surprise if he doesn't win the Sinnoh League, because of the foreshadowing that has been done during the Sinnoh Saga.

In fact, I would be more surprise if Ash doesn't win, but I don't see him beating Cynthia to become the Sinnoh Champion.

Satoshi vs Shinji in the finals, Satoshi victory, cue E4/battle frontier arc.

I'm liking Jun vs Satoshi in the Top 8/Top 4 battle; just to Satoshi can ACTUALLY GET PAST top 8 for once.
I'm also liking the idea of Haruka winning the Johto GF, and Hikari losing against (who else? Nozomi) in the Sinnoh GF Top 2 (Because of the "FINAL NO YAKUSOKU" thing).

Then a loss to Shigeru after Satoshi wins the Championship, just to get him even more motivated... Yeah. <333

And I really like the idea of all of his friends lending him a Pokemon for a certain battle (idk which one but still vs. Naoshi?). Old Pokes versus Jun, and all Sinnoh Pokes versus Shinji.

If Ash is to win the league, it would honestly be more believeable to see him use all his old Pokemon to help him.

But knowing the writers, they're probably just going to have him use his Sinnoh Pokemon.
