How long does it take you to get used to new names?

When the English, or whatever country you live in, name is revealed how long does it usually take you to get used to it?

It seems like most of the fandom dislikes it, or has a hard time using it, for a month or two before they act like nothing happened.

I usually get used to it pretty quickly, around a few days or so.

However the exception being Blue. I swore his name was going to be "Green" in HGSS so I stopped using "Blue" and started calling him "Green". Now I can't get used to Blue again.
 
Eh, not that long considering how I float between Japanese names and english names - with that said I only use japanese names for SOME characters. Haha. Their dub names are just silly and whoever did decide to give them an abortion of the english language (With very few exceptions) needs to be lampooned by trucks (in my opinion). For pokemon, I use English names because there is no way in hell am I going to memorize 493+ names of pokemon in a foreign language when I can't even list all 493 off the top of my head.

Also, I use English Town names because I don't think I'll be interested in typing Yuukariwhatevertherestofthemessis for Saffron City. Albiet with each generation they get more and more . . .blatantly an offense on the senses.
 
It takes me a few min to get used to it, unless it is some messed up or stupid name. Then i dislike it.
 
I don't get used to the Japanese in the first place, so about no time.
 
I've never known the names in some other language till i joined this. If they Change Zoroark's name i doub't i'll get used to it

And I doubt that. After hearing it time and time again you'll forget about the Japanese name. Though I doubt they'll change it much, if at all.
 
For some of the human characters, I like the Japanese names better, I don't know why. However, I like the English names better for towns/Pokemon. Admittedly, when I found out that Pocchama's name was going to be Piplup, I was relieved because Piplup is easier to spell. This goes for a lot of the Pokemon, actually.

Probably a lame reason, but there it is. =/
 
I never understood WHY did they change Pochama for Piplup, I mean, yep, it is still a penguin, but if we have Pikachu, Chikorita, and Lucario, WHY can't we have Pochama?
 
probably not too long, but I really like tsutarja's japanese name, so it might take a while to get used to whatever its eventual japanese name is
 
I rarely if ever get attached to the Japanese names, so the transition isn't that difficult for me. Other people using the Japanese names for things after the games have been out does throw me though.

I don't refer to the new Pokés by their japanese names, so I don't have to "Get used" to the English names, but I keep calling Turtwig "Neatle" and Lyra "Kotone". ^^

I usually get used to new names just after a few hours.

But there's the only exception so far: I still call Lyra "Kotone".
 
It takes me a few minutes to get used to the names. However, if the name being changed was already in English, then it can take a couple of weeks to get used to.
