So pokemon games have alot of luck in them from shinys to catching to gander there alot of luck in pokemon.

Some of us clame to have horrable luck and some can walk around and get 2 shinys in a day.

so basicly on a scale of 1(being the lowest)to 10(highest) how lucky do you think you are at the world of pokemon?

Re: How lucky are you?

I'd probably be a 3 on that scale (the only shiny I've ever encountered was the shiny Gyarados in LoR). I'm pretty lucky when it comes to legendaries because I don't have too much trouble catching them. For the latter I'd say 6 or 7.

Re: How lucky are you?

I used to run into shinies all of the time in GSC, but in the recent games I've only encountered one shiny in Firered. None since then.

Re: How lucky are you?

I dunno, lucky-ish? I got 2 shinies in one week once - maybe like within two days of each other, even. It was crazy.

Re: How lucky are you?

I'm a 4. My only luck seems to be in breeding for a specific gender. So many female eevees.

Re: How lucky are you?

I'm a 5. I got 4 shinies and Pokerus in my old Platinum game (and 1 shiny in my old HG game and current Emerald and SS games each). I lost the shinies (except for the Emerald and SS shinies), but I managed to transfer the Pokerus over to HG/SS.

Re: How lucky are you?

Maybe a 5 or a 6? I completely blew it in Blue, and my Yellow file got corrupted once, but from Generation II onward, I've had some pretty lucky moments:

- I caught Entei in Silver with just a regular old Poké Ball
- I had two shinies in my Gen II games; a Jynx in Silver and a Gligar in Gold
- I have two more shinies in FireRed; a Nidoking and a Meowth
- I caught Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres in FireRed all in the same day, with relatively few balls needed to do it

But I've also had my moments of bad luck. In Diamond, a shiny Wooper ran from me in the Pastoria Great Marsh, and I remember I knocked out Sudowoodo in Silver and the red Gyarados in Gold (I did get them both in Crystal, though). Also in Diamond, my Infernape has a nature that gives it horrible defense, so I don't really use it much, which I think is an embarrassing thing to say about your starter. And in FireRed, I tried and failed ten times to capture Mewtwo.

Re: How lucky are you?

I voted 3, having encountered only 1 shiny oddish.

Re: How lucky are you?

I say I'm pretty average, 7. I have had my fair share of lucky things, like catching a Raikou with one Dusk Ball without doing any damage to it in Heart Gold and it having a good nature to boot, catching legendaries without having to resort to saving in front of it, catching 5 shiny Pokémon during my years( Fearow in Diamond, 2 Geodude in Pearl and Platinum, Torkoal in Emerald, and Raticate in FireRed), encountering Pokérus in Diamond and Platinum for my first time, and getting some good natures.

As for bad luck, the only moments I would think of is when I forget to save the game after good 4+ hours of playing it. I blame the fact I get distracted easily and personal stuff taking over to the point that I put my DS in sleep mode.

Re: How lucky are you?

There's no such thing as luck.

That being said, I have crappy luck. :-D Never seen a shiny outside LoR.

Re: How lucky are you?

Since this seems to solely concern the luck of finding shinies in the games, I'm going to shuffle it off to the Video Games section.

Re: How lucky are you?

I've never even seen a shiny other then one male Combee and the ingame event Red Gyarados. I don't care for EVs or IVs either, so I don't know about them. I don't care for gender either.

I'd say I'm moderately lucky though. My Pokemon do well in contests and Pokethelons.

Re: How lucky are you?

I voted a three cause I got my first shiny with Grimer in June on LeafGreen. As far as stats go, my only pseudo-legendary Salamence, has a modest nature and was able to wipe out Barry's team single-handedly in Pearl. (Didn't even have to use a health restore):saiyan:

Better with soft resetting for ones you get from people than catching them...I mostly catch them when searching for fleeing legends, for they bring the shining luck

I've never had a shiny, but my pokémon don't 'suck'...
And I've also played for more than 5 years, by the way. I guess I'll vote 2.

I never encountered a random shiny before I got Diamond last year, same with Pokérus. But, since then, I've encountered two random shinies, chained two, and traded for many more. So I'd say my luck is about a 3, considering I've been a player since day one.

I don't think I've ever had a shiny Pokemon ever, and I've been playing for... too long to have never gotten a shiny.

I recently acquired a hacked shiny Mew (got a used version of Diamond for my niece and it still had the save game with a ton of hacked pokemon... I decided to save the Mew before restarting the game because, dude, it's still a Mew...) but that doesn't count.

I do recall seeing a shiny once in the wild years ago... a bug of some sort, but I didn't catch it.

And it's not my Pokemon who suck at the game... it's me. XO

Meh.I'm not that lucky either. I DO have a shiny Gastly though. I was going up Lavender Tower in Leafgreen to get an item and I caught one.

Hmm, I'll say 5. I have seven shines, five of which I found, the other two I got from friends. I'm extremely lucky with Pokerus though, so lucky in fact that I cannot recall a time where I didn't have at least one Pokemon with it. Before learning how rare it actually was, I would've thought it to be a common occurrence.
