Frankly this is a thread for your opinions your own thoughts, dont refer things like the saga.filters, etc just say how long many years you like it to last,Doing this cause someone said 30 years.well now i am furious 0-0

I hopw it can last long enough to surpass the SImpsons as the longest running televison show on the air. Also, there are so many new adventures that Ash and gang haven't even come close to experiencing yet.

Given the fact that the writers have become a lot better at handling a lot of things (re-occurring characters, plot twists, distinct personalities of people and Pokémon, etc.), I think they'll get even better, but as for how long I want the show to go on...I honestly can't say. Maybe nine more years until the anime ends, but still producing a few specials or something. I just can't really picture when it's going to end or how, but it is going to end one day.

Well D/P will probably last at least 3 more years, and the 5th gen anime will probably go on for 4 years, so that's a total of 7 years right there.

By that point, we'll be in Season 17.

As long as it remains entertaining.

...And I'm easily entertained, lol.

Personally, the fact that Johto was gargantuan in fillers practically killed off my interest in the show; to add insult to injury, this meant that most fans would have wept, "Na (8x), Hey (3x), Goodbye! D:", while dedicating it to Misty. :bheart:

Oh, going back on topic, I don't care if the show would have to run as long as, if not, longer, than the entire Dragon Ball Trilogy did in Japan (from 1986-1997), as long as they'd introduce something fresh and badly-needed angles. Like I've been saying all along, it's painful to see Brock, being the designated eunuch of the show, as a form of comic relief. Hell, there are a lot of things that can be done in the anime, such as Brock's Croagunk, only approving of Wilhemina, Pike Queen Lucy, and Holly (assuming of course, Wilhemina, Lucy, and Holly are to be brought back). Hell, the producers can just marry off Tracey and Daisy, while the latter proposing to him. And yes, let's try seeing Misty and James, getting over with their respective fears of Bug-types and commitment.

And please, let the characters age already!!!

PS: As for Ash's adventures, I just want to see his adventures done in less than 30 years, preferably speaking.

There are plenty of shows that have been on the air longer than the Simpsons. Besides, Pokemon already has more episodes aired than the Simpsons does.

The simpsons is actually the longest running animated cartoon series on the air (Started Decemner 17 1989 to present). They have had so far 416 episodes where Pokemon have had 542 which are:

Origianl series: 276
Advanced Gen: 192
D/P: 74 (Current number aired)
Banned: 5

I don't know how long I would like pokemon to last for, just as long as the storyline did not keep seeming the same or similar to other storylines used when they start running out of ideas, cause that may eventually happen.

Sazae-san will complete 40 years in 2009 and it shows no signs of getting old. Maybe not the longest-running animation, but the longest-running anime for sure. Pokémon could last as long as the writers want.

Let's put it this way, I want to tell my children and grandchildren, "I remember when this had just begun!" But the anime will go on as long as the writers can make it interesting.

Considering this is in the anime section, I assume it's about the show.

I would like it to last however long the writers could keep me entertained . . I don't want it to become this monotonous show like it did in Johto for a while. The writers seem to know how to handle an actual interesting show now.

Well, no matter when it ends, I just hope for the writers to tie up all loose ends. This includes but is not limited to the gs ball, whatever happened with brock and prof. ivy, the final whereabouts of Mewtwo, whether or not Ho-Oh finally deems Ash worthy enough after flying around stalking him for forever, will brock ever get a girl, if ash will ever show an interest in either misty, may or dawn, or other new people yet to be introduced or not mentioned, etc. There are way too many things left unknown to the fans.

I'm sure Ho-oh will be tied up at the end of the series since the writers always remind us of it every region. Giovanni and TR in general will also probably be disbanded by the end, if only to give Jessie/James/Meowth a happy ending.

Most of the main characters are pretty much done except for Ash. Misty, Max and Tracey are all mostly wrapped up as characters, Brock just needs to run off with Holly or another girl, and May + Dawn are probably going to continue traveling from region to region to become Top coordinators.

There really isn't that much to wrap up when you think about it, most of the major characters already have conclusive endings except for Ash and Team Rocket.

Maybe brock may get his chance with a nurse Joy? And I would like to see a happy ending for Team Rocket cause they seem good in sometimes when their not trying to steal pokemon or get Pikachu, like when Jessie entered the contest with Ash's Aipom.

May + Dawn could end up like Ash is, travelling around catching/contests/battling and becoming friends with Pokemon etc.

Maybe in the end, something (maybe Ho-oh) could lead Ash to something and later it reveals who is father really is?

i would like for their to be just eight regions (leagues) and that would be the circumvention of the pokemon world. Of course theres other regions like orange islands, and game-exclusive regions. I would like to see Ash finish all 8 leagues and become a master who competes in any league he wants. I also would like to see Ash in a older form and like others have said, possibly meet his father.
Bottom line in my opinion is, i think 8 regions/leagues is the farthest i would like for Pokemon to go. That would be a total of 8 champions, 32 elite four members, 72 starter pokemon, hopefully no more new characters.

[1]Maybe brock may get his chance with a nurse Joy? [2]And I would like to see a happy ending for Team Rocket cause they seem good in sometimes when their not trying to steal pokemon or get Pikachu, like when Jessie entered the contest with Ash's Aipom.

[3]May + Dawn could end up like Ash is, travelling around catching/contests/battling and becoming friends with Pokemon etc.

[4]Maybe in the end, something (maybe Ho-oh) could lead Ash to something and later it reveals who is father really is?

[1]As far as I know, his Croagunk will choose which girls it sees fit for Brock or not; given its track record, its extremely guaranteed that Brock will NEVER get to pursue a Nurse Joy, let alone an Officer Jenny.

[2]Yes, they need a happy ending, given that their TR gig is stale; hell, I guess one of the many things the writers will need to resolve is James' fear of commitment, courtesy of Jessiebelle, alongside with his reunion with his Chimecho and his pet Growlie.

[3]As a tag team? That would be some potentially great dynamics, given that May has seniority over Dawn; heck, they could portray a catfight between the prior and Zoey.

[4]Personally, I'm vouching for Silver (Chronicles) as the possible candidate for Ash's biological father.
