How much do you care for stats?

I've noticed a lot of people seem to dismiss certain Pokemon due to stats.

I couldn't care less about stats. I use individual Pokemon I like and train them. A lot of so called "poor" Pokemon, or even novelty ones, are actually quite nice. I always use Butterfree and Beedrill in Kanto related games, and they help me a lot. Same with Farfetch.

I don't care much, the only thing I care for is if the Sp.Atk. or Attack is higher, that determine what kind of moves I teach it.

However, if a Pokemon is too bad I might dismiss it, like I did whit Ariados when I reached Kanto in SS, it was just not strong enough to take a hit, and not fast enough to hit either.

I'm a breeder mainly. I am very meticulous about checking IVs, having good natures, and the correct abilities and egg moves. IVs are extremely important in competitive battling. I can't count the number of times I've had a Pokemon survive a hit with 1 HP left and return a fatal blow to my opponent. While some would say "You just got lucky", my retort is easily (and warranted) "they were bred very well". Times like those; IVs make a large difference in increasing the odds in your favor. Good breeding skills are important too, not just battling ability. Both are part of competitive battling.

I do care about stats, but then again I don't.

I always try to use Pokemon I like over "the best" Pokemon, but if they turn out to have horrible stats then I won't use them.

I don't care about IVs though, and natures don't matter that much to me either (although I do try to get a good nature).

I care about stats of Pokémon, IV checking and EV training them, checking their natures, etc.

It depends for me.
If I'm doing a playthrough then I check for a good nature, then teach it good moves. But I don't check for IV's and all that.
If I'm battling against people, then I'll probably breed, check for natures and moves and EV train, too.
There was a time once, when I dismissed a pokemon. A Dugtrio in LG, despite the moves and nature, it was just too weak. It was useless in the Elite four, so I changed for a Rhydon.

I do care about stats if I'm playing competitively.
I semi-care when I play in-game.
Butterfree is awesome lol

Thanks.

I don't care about stats, except for which attacks I should assign. I just catch a Pokemon that seems cute or cool and catch the lil' thing. I take Karen's words to heart:Every Pokemon can shine.

Short version:Stats don't matter unless I'm in the Pokeathlon. Which is 80% of my HeartGold.

As long as the stats aren't extra horrible (like a lv 50 that gets beat by most lv 30s), I don't care for stats. Even then, there are strategies that ignore stats (like FEAR).

Pff stats take so much fun out of the game. The ONLY time I mess with stats and evs and what not is for a wifi battle team. I train pokemon I like, no matter what.

i used to completely ignore the stats of pokmeon, now i know that thats a bad move. Ive had many poor pokemon that ive tried to make work and end up just dumping in the box. Im beginnig to see how important attack, defence and speed stats are for a pokemon to battle well, i admit I kindof ignore special, and HP stats, but I guess those are important to and add to a pokemons versitility. Im beginning to want for the first time to try getting into battling Pokemon online, especially with the Black and White games coming, and so I understand the importance of EV training and Ivs now. I alsmost understand EV training completely now, bt its IVs i still have trouble with. Its also kinda hard for me to remember what EVs i train for unless I write them down. I guess i jsut need ro learn all this stuff., bu.t its alot of math which im not very great at
There are exceptions to the thing ive said I EV trained a Ghastly and Scyther in my soul silver to go after and quickly catch Raikou and Entei and in 3rd gen games to take on the elite 4
I have checked IVs before and if I hadent, I wouldnt have found out I have a Totodile with good Breeding Potential

I don't mess with them at all. I don't even know what Evs and Ivs are. I just catch my pokemon, level them up, and play the game.

i make sure each pokemon on my teams has one super good stat so i do care about stats for example my emerald team: sceptile=speed
skarmory=defense
absol=attack
camerupt=defense and attack
flygon=jack of all trades
gyrados=attack

I do care for stats (only if they're okay for me to use), but I also go for Pokemon that look good.

I realized I answered the question oddly earlier. I pick what Pokemon I want to use for many reasons: mainly if I like it I will try to find a way to use it. I have more NU Pokemon on my OU team than OU.

I dont care about stats except for when devising moves but thats a different story but aside from that I dont care

I don't usually decide on which Pokemon I'm using based on stats, but when I have finally decided, I usually do check it's stats to determine what kind of build would be most appropriate for the Pokemon.
