How much longer do you think Jessie will keep Dustox?

Most people have been surprised that Dustox has lasted as long on Jessie's roster as it has, despite the fact that it pretty much lost its point on the show in the first place once Hoenn ended.

Why do you think it remained through BF and especially D/P? We still seldom ever see it, and it really does seem out of place considering it doesn't have a dynamic with any of Dawn's Pokemon like it did with May's.

And if Dustox is to go, why did the writers not release it prior to the start of D/P?

Dustox was added to basically be a counter to May's Beautifly. When Beautifly left the show at the end of Hoenn, Dustox essentially lost it's purpose. That said, I haven't seen any reason for Dustox to leave anymore than Cacnea, and can't see it leaving the show in the forseeable future.

I think she will keep it since Team Rocket needs all the pokemon they can get.

I think a better question would be: how long is Kojirou gonna have two grass-types, both of which use the same Utsubot-inspired gag, on his team at the same time? When they've already done a scene where both Sabonea and Masukippa smother him at once, it doesn't seem like there's much more you could do with the little prick (XD)... at least not without screwing over the new guy (which isn't so hard to imagine with these writers -_-). Well, whoever they end up ditching, I hope they quickly replace their spot so that each Rocket has an equal number of Pokemon. That was bullshit how Kojirou lost his aforementioned Utsubot, and never got a Chiriin (a Pokemon which barely did shit, BTW... I mean, even as far as mascot-like novelties go, Sounansu and Manene still manage to participate from time to time) until about 90 episodes later. For that matter, he lost a Pokemon in Jouto and couldn't even get a new one to showcase in return, like the case with Musashi's Sounansu (and lord knows more 2nd gen Pokemon could've used better showcases).

I think it needs to happen, but i really can't see a way of them doing it well. Would they just be like, oh look a tribe of defensless cascoon, here stay, like they've done with pretty much every other main character pokemon release aside from Primape and Lickitung.

Now that you bring it up, Yamato-san, Mime Jr. has been rather low-key in D/P, hasn't it?

Back in BF we always saw Mime Jr. doing things, but now...I barely notice it anymore. Its almost become exactly like Chimecho, a cute Pokemon at first and now that the appeal is mostly over, its kinda....dead weight.

In fact, I noticed that nearly all the new D/P Pokemon revealed prior to D/P are gone from the show or ignored now:

Munchlax is gone because it left with May
Bonsly is gone because it evolved to Sudowoodo
Mime Jr. barely gets to do anything anymore

And then there's just Weevile, who is now shown with Paul, although that was never as heavily promoted as the others in the anime. I kind of find it funny how all the new D/P pokes introduced during Battle Frontier are mostly forgotten now.

Possible storyline with Mothim?

It always seemed like there was long stretches of time when certain TR Pokémon were pushed out of the spotlight. For the longest time, Arbok & Weezing were the standard duo (being they were the only two Jessie and James had) but when Victreebel came along Weezing was heavily ignored. The only exception to this was with Jessie, she always seemed to favor Arbok over Lickitung, that is until Wobbuffet came along.

I always thought Paul had a Weevile because Silver has one.

Dokucail is a dead Pokemon already, Musashi is going to release it. Same with Sabonea, we get Muscippa which inherited its role, so Sabonea isn't needed anymore. Rocket Group is going to catch some new Pokemon in the place of old ones, I'm sure about it.

I've been wondering too...

I'd actually LOVE to see someone else steal Team Rocket's Pokémon for once...doesn't Team Galactic like using Pokémon like Dustox?

Dustox

Dustox... I would say Jessie would have gotten rid of it, but considering the gang already went through Eterna Forest, it seems VERY unlikely that we will see Eterna again (though it is possible... I cant really figure out how this saga is going to seeing as you pretty much visit everywhere twice). My guess though, is that IF something was to go on... Jessie will catch a burmy, as will Dawn. One will become Wormadam, the other Mothim. They (like Dustox and Beautifly) will both be used primarily for contests... The only thing I dont really understand is Mothim looks more like a contest Pokemon that Wormadam... So I dont know.

I really dont see Mime Jr. going ANYWHERE in the near future. ITs just too cute to get rid of.

And Cacnea... Maybe it will evolve? The only reason I dont think it evolved prior to now was Harley's involvment in the story and his primary use of Cacturne. So... maybe Cacnea will evolve to Cacturne (after all... TR is due an evolution)

James had Cacnea for a hell of a long time before Harley ever appeared

Yeah, but he meant that once Harley did appear, its probably what prevented Cacnea from evolving in late Hoenn or Battle Frontier.

Eh, I could see it going either way. I figure if she would've released it, she would've done so already but it still sucks that she doesn't have one Sinnoh poké on her team. But never say never.

I know a lot of people wanted to see her with Skunpoo, and I was one of those as well. It's still popular and I hope it happens, because I'm rather fond of the thing myself.
